WASHINGTON — A Hollywood reshuffling of staff for Astronomer.

The AI and technology company that gained national attention after a viral video of its CEO and human resources executive on a Coldplay concert kiss cam, apparently out of reach from their spouses, now appears to be recruiting Academy Award-winning talent.

On Friday night, actress Gwyneth Paltrow revealed she had been hired on a “very temporary basis” as a spokesperson for Astronomer, in a video posted to the company Instagram account.

The video, captioned, “Thank you for your interest in Astronomer,” winks at Astronomer’s relatively low profile suddenly thrust into the national spotlight with the IRON MAN star responding to questions apparently submitted to the company about its viral moment, playfully assuming the questions are about the company’s products.

“Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones,” Paltrow says in the video. “Yes! Astronomer is the best place to run Apache Airflow, unifying the experience of running data, ML and AI pipelines at scale. We’ve been thrilled that so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation.”

The social media post comes days after Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s human resources executive Kristin Cabot resigned following the controversy. Byron quit after the company said he was being put on leave pending an investigation.

Like Astronomer, Paltrow also has ties to Coldplay. The Goop founder was married to the British rock band’s lead singer, Chris Martin, from 2003 until their divorce 2016. The power couple had two children together.

It was Martin who, while performing at a concert in Massachusetts, spotted the two that would later be identified as Byron and Cabot.

“Either they’re having an affair or just very shy,” the singer said as the couple tried to retreat out of view from the Jumbotron camera.

Martin typically serenades audience members at random during a segment of Coldplay’s concerts, referred to as the “Jumbotron song.”

Paltrow won the Academy Award for Best Actress at age 26 for her performance as Viola de Lesseps in SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE. In the 1998 film, Paltrow plays a fictional 16th century noblewoman who cross-dresses in order to star in William Shakespeare’s original production of Romeo and Juliet.

More recently, Paltrow has become well-known in the wellness space for as the CEO of the brand Goop, which she founded in 2008 as a space to provide new age health advice with its slogan “nourish the inner aspect.”

Hollywood royalty, Paltrow is the daughter of Emmy and Tony Award winning actress Blythe Danner and filmmaker Bruce Paltrow.
