GYM: Southern Utah joins Pac-12 Conference as affiliate member in gymnastics | Sports

CORVALLIS, Ore– Oregon State gymnastics and the rest of the Pac-12 Conference will now have a new member to welcome come the 2026-27 sports season.

On Thursday, Southern Utah Gymnastics announced that they will be joining the conference after this season.

With the addition of Thunderbirds as an affiliate member in the conference, the Pac-12 now has four official members that will be competing for a conference title in 2027. The four schools now include Oregon State, Utah State, Boise State & now Southern Utah.

“Women’s gymnastics has a long history of excellence in this league, and we are proud to build upon that foundation and to continue to be a force in the sport with our new Pac-12 as solidified with the addition of Southern Utah,” Pac-12 Commissioner Teresa Gould said.

A season ago the Thunderbirds finished the 2024-25 season with a 16-7 record and another berth to NCAA Regional competition, the second in the last three seasons.

According to the Pac-12 in the last five seasons in women’s gymnastics, the conference is just one of three to see over half of its members reach the NCAA postseason.

It also had 14 total Top-25 finishes across the four programs in that same time frame and has seen an average score of 196.114 which is fifth-best mark among leagues.
