Southeast Missouri Gymnastics will compete in the 2025 Midwest Independent Conference Championships (MIC) on Friday, March 21, from Centenary University in Shreveport, La. Competition is slated to begin at 4 p.m., CT. from the Gold Dome.
Who’s There
The competition will feature the MIC’s four teams, including the Gymhawks, in Illinois State, Texas Woman’s, and Centenary. Illinois State ranks 42nd, followed by TWU (48th), SEMO (59th), and Centenary (80th).
Last Time Out
The Gymhawks concluded the 2025 regular season last Saturday evening at Illinois State, turning in a 193.250. Junior Taylor Ingle won the all-around for the fifth time this season with a 39.200. SEMO turned in a 48.400 on the bars for their highest team score of the evening. Illinois State won the meet with a 195.875.
How We Rank
The Gymhawks come into the conference championship ranked 59th according to Road to Nationals. SEMO ranks 56th on vault, 57th on both bars and beam, and 61st on the floor. This season, the Gymhawks have two meets north of 194.000 and five scores of 193.000 or higher.
MIC Gymnast of the Week
Junior Taylor Ingle picked up MIC ‘Gymnast of the Week’ honors in the final week of the regular season. This past weekend, Ingle competed in the all-around winning her fifth all-around title of the season with a 39.200. Her best score came on the Bars and Beam with a 9.850 on each apparatus.
She finished tied for third on the bars and placed second on the beam in the dual meet with Illinois State. She recorded a 9.725 on the vault (5th) and a 9.775 on the floor (T-4th).
Her all-around score of 39.200 is the fifth of the season in the all-around with a 39.000 or higher.
Last MIC
The 2024 MIC Championship meet saw the Gymhawks take home fourth place in the five team meet with a 194.275. Last season’s meet featured Lindenwood who dropped their gymnastics program following the 2024 season.
Taylor Ingle placed second overall in the all-around with a 39.100, trailing only former Lindenwood and current Illinois State gymnast Jaly Jones (39.125).
Madison Greene finished on the podium for the vault turning in a 9.850 for third place while current sophomore Ava Johnston scored a 9.775 for fourth place on the bars. Greene finished as a first team All-MIC selection on the vault, Johnston a second team bars selection.

This Season Against
The Redhawks have faced off with MIC opponents six times this season beginning with the first meet of the season. The Gymhawks are 0-3 against Illinois State, 0-1 against Texas Woman’s, and 2-0 against Centenary. In their two wins against Centenary, the Gymhawks have scored a 192.325 and a 193.875.
At Texas Woman’s, the Gymhawks scored their first 193 of the season with a 193.325 narrowly falling in that meet (TWU: 194.875).
Floor General
Senior Madison Greene has had a great campaign in her final season as a Gymhawk including battling injuries and returning to the lineup in the same year. Greene has two 9.850s on the floor, most recently in Cape Girardeau (Feb. 28). She has eight scores of 9.700 or higher on the floor in 2025.
Bar Johnston
Sophomore Ava Johnston is coming off a season-high performance on the bar last weekend at Illinois State. Johnston turned in a 9.775 finishing second on the bars for the Gymhawks. The score marked her second 9.775 of the season as she has five scores of 9.700 or higher on the bars in her second campaign.
Kuehn Dream
Junior Ailey Kuehn tied her season-best on the beam this year last Saturday night. Kuehn, a junior from Eagan, Minnesota, turned in her second 9.750 on the beam in 2025. She has four scores of 9.700 or higher on the beam.
Parton Me
Leah Parton has inserted herself into the Gymhawks lineup primarily on beam and floor and has performed well down the stretch of the regular season. She has two scores of 9.800 or higher on the beam and six scores of 9.700 or higher. On the floor, Parton has an impressive season-high 9.875 and has four scores of 9.700 or higher for her routine.
