BOSTON, Mass. – The Hartford men’s indoor track & field team returned to action on Friday competing in the Riverhawk Invitational in Boston sponsored by the University of Massachusetts – Lowell.Up Next: 
The Hawks will next be in action on January 31st at the Roxbury Community College Open presented by Boston Athletic Association at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center. 

  • Sophomore Christopher Hergott (Hamden, Conn.) had a great showing winning the long jump at a length of 7.13 meters. Hergott also finished in 12th place in the 200 meter dash (22.33) and 34th in the 60 meter dash (7.13). Christopher now sits 7th in program history in the 200 meter and 9th in the 60 meter. 
  • Senior Jovan Joseph (Wrentham, Mass.) finished in the 10th place in the 500 meter run at a time of 1:06.47. 
  • Senior Joseph Lothamer (Newburgh, Ind.) placed in 14th place in the pole vault clearing a height of 4.28 meters. 
  • Senior Riley Brutvan (Gardiner, N.Y.) came in 15th place in the 5000 meter run at a time of 15:29.77. 
  • Senior Joseph Stephenson (Crown Point, Ind.) rounded out the top 20 finishers in 18th in the weight throw reaching 15.51 meters. 
  • Freshman Nick Gati (Goshen, N.Y.) moved the highest in the top 10’s list getting the 6th highest mark in weight throw at 13.64 meters for 34th place.
  • The men’s 4×400 meter relay featuring senior Brandon Edmund (Brooklyn, N.Y.), freshman Nick Brisson (Williamsburg, Mass.), freshman Aidan Quee (Springfield, Mass.) and Joseph came in 9th in the meet and 7th in program history at a time of 3:25.06. 
  • Freshman Aidan Lybarger (South Burlington, Vt.) and sophomore William Pavlinsky (New Milford, Conn.) both also moved into the top 10’s list as Lybarger moved to 7th all-time in shot put (13.17) and Pavlinski into 8th (13.02).

“Overall, today’s meet was pretty solid for me”, said freshman Nick Gati (Goshen, N.Y.). “I went into today with a couple of goals set in mind; setting a new PR in the weight throw and putting more power into my throws. I came out of this meet with a new PR in the weight throw, and a pretty decent performance for me in shot put.
