South Fayette is one of three girls basketball teams in Class 5A that have strong cases for being the No. 1 seed when the WPIAL playoff brackets and pairings are released this afternoon.
Boys results

Bentworth slips to .500, both in the section (7-7) and overall (10-10).
The Lions made their final pitch for No. 1 on Saturday when they defeated Class 6A Section 1 champion Seneca Valley, 65-30, in a game played at North Allegheny.
The Bearcats were led by Chris Harper’s nine points.

Markus McGowen scored 17 points and Jayce Powell added 16 as Jeannette defeated cold-shooting Bentworth 71-25 in Class 2A Section 1.
South Fayette 54, Obama 46
Ryan Oldaker pumped in a game-high 22 points to spark South Fayette (21-1), which raced out to leads of 22-7 at the end of one quarter and 38-17 at halftime. Juliette Leroux added 15 points for the Lions, who have won 13 in a row.
Olivia Woods led three Wash High players in double figures with 23 points and the Prexies dominated the second and third quarters en route to a 63-30 victory over visiting Monessen.
South Fayette (15-7) forged a 13-point halftime lead and pushed it to 18 at the end of three quarters.
Tyson Wright scored a game-high 18 points and South Fayette defeated Obama Academy of the Pittsburgh City League, 54-46.
