ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – University of Alaska Anchorage head coach Matt Shasby announced the addition of two players for the 2025-26 season.

Luke Johnson

Forward / 5-10 / 167 lbs.

St. Cloud, Minn. / University of Alaska Fairbanks (NCAA)

Luke Johnson has appeared in 66 games during his college career. He played two seasons (2022-24) at the University of Minnesota Duluth scoring two goals and four assists in 51 games. Johnson scored two goals and two assists in 15 games for the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2024-25.

Mathis Aguilar

Defense / 6-3 / 208 lbs.

Mirabel, Quebec / Victoriaville Tigres (QMJHL)

Mathis Aguilar tallied 51 points (16 goals, 35 assists) in 261 games across five seasons in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. He played 27 games for the Charlottetown Islanders before joining the Rimouski Oceanic. He scored seven goals and 12 assists in 133 games across three seasons for the Oceanic. Aguilar tallied 23 points (8 goals, 15 assists) in two seasons for the Victoriaville Tigres, including a career-high 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 2024-25.
