Last season, Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams took the SEC by storm. The 17-year-old immediately became the top target for quarterback Jalen Milroe, and his late-game heroics helped Alabama seal a victory over No. 2 Georgia, 41-34.

Williams completed his freshman campaign with 865 receiving yards and 10 total touchdowns, earning All-SEC First-Team recognition. He was also named Freshman All-American. The now 18-year-old star from Saraland, Alabama, is preparing for his second season in Tuscaloosa, where he will almost certainly take the next step in his development as a threat in the receiving game for Alabama.

On Friday, Williams announced his largest NIL deal yet, joining the country’s largest sports clothing brand, Nike.

“Since I can remember, Nike has always been the best fit on and off the field,” Williams said in a press release. ”Family has always been a huge part of who I am. When I had the opportunity to join the Nike family, I knew I had to just do it.”

Williams joins Alabama as a member of the Nike family, which has been a part of Alabama athletics for over 30 years, according to the company’s website. Williams’ announcement reflects, “Nike’s five-decade history as the brand of athletes and its continued commitment to inspiring and uplifting the next generation through partnerships, innovation, and storytelling that move the world forward through the power of sport.”

According to Pete Nakos of On3, Williams is the second college football player to sign with Nike, with Shedeur Sanders signing with the brand last August before his final season of college football.

Ryan Williams holds an NIL valuation of $2.7 million, according to On3 Sports.
