This summer the Lady Hornets competed in camps at Snead State and in Guntersville.

“The girls have put in a lot of hard work this summer and it really shows.

As a team we are in a much better position at this point than we were this time last year,”said Cornett.

This years Ider team will be lead by six seniors, Makinley Traylor, Abigale Bass, Brynley Traylor, Lillie Waldon, Allison Crowley and Addison Heard.

This group of seniors look to accomplish something that you rarely see in high school athletics and that is make the Final Four in three different sports in the same academic year.

The Lady Hornets not only have a real chance to make a return trip to the Final Four in volleyball, but this winter in basketball and this coming spring in softball the Hornets will have the chance to achieve that goal.

Ider will compete in Class-1A Area 16 with Oakwood Academy, Valley Head and Woodville.

The Lady Hornets open the season at Sylvania on August 21.
