Scranton’s Eyinah Smith finished fourth in the 55 hurdles in 9.83 seconds. She had her season-best time of 9.28 in the preliminary races.
In the girls meet, Delaware Valley’s Emma Simmons finished fifth in the 55 hurdles (9.72) and seventh in the 55 (8.07).
Valley View’s Tommy Fiorelli
Wallenpaupack’s Aiden Janowicz finished second in the 3,200 with a time of 10:26.63.
Valley View senior Tommy Fiorelli won the shot put with a distance of 49-8. He has the No. 11 distance for the event in the state. Perkiomen Valley junior Colin Sturges had a distance of 55-3.75 at the Shot Put Night in the Valley Holiday meet in December to lead the state rankings.
Skirpan’s teammate Abbie Washine finished third with a mark of 8-6.
Abington Heights also had Emily Dennis finish third in the high jump (4-6) and its 1,600-meter relay team finish fifth (4:41.0) in the girls meet, and DJ Rogers place third in the 200 (24.09) and the high jump (5-10) in the boys meet.
Seid had a busy meet and finished third in the long jump with a distance of 15-10.5, finished 11th in the shot put (26-6), and ran the 55-meter hurdles in 9.97 seconds.
Western Wayne’s Katie Skirpan
Western Wayne senior Katie Skirpan earned a win in the pole vault with a mark of 10-0. She is ranked in a tie for 19th in the state in the early season.
Four performers earned first-place finishes at the indoor track and field event on Saturday.
Wallenpaupack’s Kelcie Fillebrown finished fifth in the 800 (2:36.35) and sixth in the 3,200 (12:55.99).
Abington Heights senior Tomara Seid won the triple jump with a distance of 34 feet, 11.75 inches. That mark ranks 13th in the state according to pa.milesplit.com. Souderton Area senior has the top distance in the state at 42-2.75.
Wallenpaupack’s Owen Wolff finished sixth in the 55 hurdles (8.73).
Elk Lake’s Gianna Tewksbury finished fifth in the shot put (31-9).
In the boys meet, Scranton senior Jhaven Sims-Pagan won the 55 hurdles in 8.10 seconds. His time is ranked No. 9 in the state for the event among PIAA athletes. Upper Perkiomen junior Grayson Riggins ran a 7.45 in December for the best time this season.
Mid Valley’s Jacob Borrelli finished third in the 3,200 (10:29.52) and finished 11th in the 1,600 (5:00.77).
