Konkoly won the 400 free S9 and 200IM SM9 at La Defense Arena as well as silver in the 100 fly S9. It took her medal haul to seven across three Paralympic Games.
Kós was honoured ahead of Kristof Rasovszky, winner of the Olympic 10k title, and Kristof Milak, who won 100 fly gold and 200 silver.
There he came past Apostolos Christou on the final 50 to win the 200 back in 1:54.26, an outcome he credited to coach Bob Bowman.
Kós ended the year with more silverware at the World Short-Course Championships in Budapest. In front of a home crowd at the Duna Arena, he won the 200 back in a European and championship record of 1:45.65, 0.02 off Mitch Larkin’s WR set back in 2015. It followed silver over 100m.
Olympic 200 back champion Hubert Kós and Zsófia Konkoly, double Paris 2024 Paralympic gold medallist, won top honours at the Hungarian Athlete of the Year gala.
Kós won the best male athlete award with Konkoly named top female para-athlete following voting by the Hungarian Sportswriters Association.
The 21-year-old had a glittering 2024. Golds in the 200IM and mixed 4×100 free among five medals at the European Championships in Belgrade were followed weeks later by success at the pinnacle in Paris.
