“We wouldn’t challenge this group if we didn’t think they can handle it.”Coming off their first NCAA Regional Appearance in ten years, Nebraska Baseball is surrounded by outside expectations and full of internal confidence. The Huskers enter this year as the No. 24 ranked team in the nation (D1Baseball Preseason) after returning most of their starting lineup and a large portion of their pitching staff that carried them to a Big 10 Tournament Title victory last season. Despite a 40-win campaign in 2024, the veteran-led team believes they’ve only scratched the surface heading into this year.”It comes down to five games, and that’s the difference between getting to a regional, staying at home, just getting to a regional or hosting one,” Manager Will Bolt said. “So what you do in those days in between is ultra important”The Huskers start their season on February 6th as part of the MLB Desert Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona. Nebraska will open the year with UC Irvine followed by No. 16 Vanderbilt, all part of a carefully cultivated non-conference schedule their manager presents as an opportunity to his team.
