GREENWOOD, Ind. (binghamtonbearcats.com) – Binghamton Volleyball’s Tsvetelina Ilieva and Lottie Scully were selected to the College Sports Communications Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday morning.

The 2024 Academic All-District Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Three-time America East Player of the Year and back-to-back AVCA All-America Tsvetelina Ilieva picked up an All-District nod with a 3.99 GPA in Business Administration and was selected as CSC Academic All-America finalist. Student-athletes chosen will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 14, 2025.

Ilieva received her first AVCA All-Region first team honor last week after being named Honorable Mention the previous two seasons. She finished the regular season with a conference-best with 5.7 points, 4.8 kills, and .53 service aces per set in conference play this fall. Ilieva also ranked eighth with a .251 hitting percentage. Ilieva concluded 2024 within the top 10 players nationwide with 572 points and with 494 total kills.

The fifth year outside-hitter set a new program record with 535 single-season kills this campaign, besting Iva Partaleva’s record 2012 mark of 448. Ilieva ranks third in Bearcat history with 1,309 kills in a Binghamton uniform. She also holds the school record for single-season kills per set and ranks amongst the top ten Bearcats in history for single-season attack attempts, as well as career service aces, attack attempts and attack percentage.

Scully received her first CSC Academic All-District selection with a 3.51 GPA in Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Sustainable Systems. Scully earned her first career Setter of the Year award after being named to the All-Conference Second Team in 2022 and 2023. She is the third Bearcat in program history to earn the honor and first since Sarah Ngo in 2017.

Scully led the America East with 10.15 assists per set and 406 assists in America East competition. The junior recorded a season-high 56 assists vs. LIU, Sept. 29, the most of any America East setter in a match this fall. Scully posted eight double-doubles and 30 or more assists in 17 matches for Binghamton.
