IOWA IN POSTSEASON; AT THE CITRUS BOWL
The Hawkeyes are making their 36th bowl game appearance, and their third appearance in the Citrus Bowl (previously known as the Capital One Bowl).

The Hawkeyes have emerged victorious in four of their last five bowl games, which includes a 21-0 shutout of Kentucky in the 2022 Music City Bowl. Iowa’s all-time record in bowl games stands at 18-16-1.

IOWA VS. TENNESSEE
The Hawkeyes have a 1-2 record against the Volunteers throughout their history. Tennessee claimed victory in their sole bowl encounter, winning 45-28 during the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl held in Jacksonville.

Iowa’s record against current Southeastern Conference (SEC) rivals in bowl games is 7-6. This marks the fourth time in five years that Iowa will compete against an SEC school in a bowl game.

IOWA IN 2023
The Hawkeyes completed the month of November with a perfect 4-0 record, finishing the regular season with 10 wins and a 7-2 record in the Big Ten, clinching the title of the Big Ten West Division. The West Division title marks only the third in program history and represents the eighth 10-win season under head coach Kirk Ferentz.

Junior Cooper DeJean earned accolades as the Tatum-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year and the Rodgers-Dwight Big Ten Return Specialist of the Year. Senior Tory Taylor was honored as the Eddleman-Fields Big Ten Punter of the Year. The Odebolt, Iowa native is also in contention for the Jim Thorpe Award and Bronko Nagurski Award and was a semifinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.

DeJean is the sixth Hawkeye to be named the top defensive back in the Big Ten and the third player to achieve the league’s top returner title. Taylor has received the top punter accolade for the second time in his career (2020), becoming the first punter in league history to receive this honor more than once.

Iowa saw 20 players receive All-Big Ten recognition, including first-team selections Jay Higgins (linebacker), DeJean (defensive back, return specialist), and Taylor (punter). Sebastian Castro (defensive back) achieved second-team honors, while Joe Evans (defensive end), Nick Jackson (linebacker), Drew Stevens (placekicker), Logan Jones (center), Connor Colby (guard), and Nick DeJong (guard) earned third-team recognition.

Under head coach Kirk Ferentz, the Hawkeyes are bowl eligible for the 22nd time in the last 23 seasons. Iowa has an overall record of 10-9 in bowl games under Ferentz, which includes a 21-0 win against Kentucky in the Music City Bowl. Since 2001, only Ohio State and Wisconsin have claimed more bowl victories (including the FBS championship game) than Iowa.
