He comes to Ames with two years of eligibility remaining.Williams helps provide an offensive punch. His ability to score from nearly anywhere on the floor will be a big boost for the Cyclones, who graduated All-Big 12 first-team selection and conference sixth man of the year Curtis Jones, as well as another all-conference pick and second-highest scorer in Keshon Gilbert.
The 6-foot-5, 180-pound guard from Seattle was the second-highest scorer on the Eagles’ roster. He was a bright spot on a team that finished 10-22. His best showing came against Idaho State, when he dropped 35 points and shot 12-of-15 on the road.Iowa State still has more vacancies to fill on its roster, so it will remain busy in the transfer portal. The Cyclones are expected to retain starters Tamin Lipsey, Milan Momcilovic and Joshua Jefferson. Nate Heise also has a year of eligibility remaining. The Cyclones are bringing in a top 25-ranked high school recruiting class that includes guards Killyan Toure and Jamarion Batemon.
Williams is coming off of a breakout season with the Eagles. After seeing limited playing time as a freshman, he appeared in 27 games and made 22 starts in 2024-25, averaging 13.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 42.7% overall and 34.5% from beyond the arc.
