The season opened Monday night and students like Liberty tech quarterback Araiya Stewart are making the most of the opportunity. Stewart who also plays softball and basketball for Liberty was able to lead the lady crusaders to a win over South side with
a final of 20 to 7. Madison was also involved in the trimatch,
however  the coaches, players, and game officials are still learning the in’s and outs of the sport, but the learning hasn’t taken away from the fun the teams are having.

“It was scary at first im not gone lie it was scary but we came together and we played hard
and we just gotta keep playing hard for this next game, the first win of anything, honestly it feels
good. Because i been always wanting to be a QB. Honestly, I played with boys all my life really
so I just been wanting to show what I can do.”

“Well it was fun for the girls of course being its the first game it’s gonna be a lot of kinks to work out but so as long as we’re having fun we’re happy.”

The flag football season continues Thursday as north side hosts a tri-match with jcm and jcm early college high.
