The flavorful partnership promises to bring a zesty splash of personality to the high-speed showdown on Sunday, Jun. 29.

Joe Gibbs Racing revealed the new paint scheme on social media with a playful post on X, “Car goes vroom. Pickle goes crunch. @sonicdrivein and @GrillosPickles said: Why not both?”

The post was accompanied by striking photos of Ty’s freshly wrapped car. The car now boasts a dynamic combination of two beloved American brands in a colorful and eye-catching design. Photos shared by the team revealed Ty’s car drenched in Sonic’s classic red-and-blue branding, accented with a big, bright green pickle across the front, Grillo’s signature logo.

The sponsorship marks a creative cross-promotional effort between two food industry favorites, Sonic, known for its retro drive-in charm and slushes, and Grillo’s, a cult-favorite pickle brand beloved for its fresh, crunchy pickles.

The pairing aims to draw attention to Ty’s car on the track and grab the attention and appetites of NASCAR’s growing fan base, particularly among Gen Z and younger millennials.

The Internet Can’t Seem To Get Enough of the Pickle-Powered Camry

As soon as Joe Gibbs Racing revealed the new paint scheme, NASCAR fans online were quick to react, and they didn’t hold back their excitement.

One fan wrote, “Okay wow, what a scheme!”

“Awesome looking car. The hood immediately made me think of the television show Rick and Morty,” added another NASCAR fan.

Joining in on the fun, a fan created a rhyme of their own, writing, “Car goes vroom, Pickles goes crunch. Sonic and Grillos…? Imma about to munch.”

“Love it. Now let’s get it together and find victory lane for the 54!!!!!!” added a JGR fan, hoping for a win this weekend.

The 22-year-old Ty, grandson of NFL Hall of Famer and JGR founder Gibbs, has been slow to impress this season. With his new sponsor lineup and the level of online buzz, Sonic and Grillo’s may have already won the marketing race; now it’s up to Ty to finish the job on the track.
