GLASSBORO, NJ — The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honored Izzy Deal and Nyla Jones as part of its 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Regional Awards.
Deal was named the Metro Region Field Athlete of the Year while Jones was selected the Metro Region Track Athlete of the Year.
Deal scored a pair of All-American honors at the 2025 Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships placing sixth in the shot put and 12th in the javelin. Earlier in the season, the graduate student won both the shot and hammer at the NJAC Championships, with the former being a PR (14.12 meters).
Jones had a remarkable freshman campaign, finishing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships for an All-America accolade. Earlier in the season, Jones dominated the competition at the NJAC Outdoor Championships with a commanding victory in the 400H, 100H, and helping out on the winning 4×400 relay that was ranked seventh nationally.
The team finished as runners-up at the NJAC Championships and placed in a tie for 38th at the Division III Championships, capping the first year for head coach Shedrick Elliott III.
