The Jumbos picked up just 200.50 points last year’s winter, and despite finishing a spot lower than last year’s winter check-in at ninth, Tufts still has more points at this point than last year.
After the winter, Johns Hopkins leads all Division III schools wil 865 points while NYU was second with 727 points. Emory University (662.50), MIT (660.00) and Washington University of St. Louis (627.00) rounded out the top five. Wisconsin-Lacrosse (621.00) was sixth, while four New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) schools rounded out the top 10 as Middlebury (586.00), Williams (577.50) and Amherst College (572.25) were right in front of the Jumbos.
The Jumbos are coming off a fourth-place finish in the final 2023-24 standing a season ago, their fifth all-time top five finish. It was their 11th straight year in the Top 10, and 14th time since 1995-96.
Tufts’ finished second overall in 2022-23, in addition to winning the Directors’ Cup for the first time in 2021-22. The Jumbos’ 2016-17 third-place finish overall and 2015-16’s fourth-place showing are other top-five performances. The Jumbos had sixth-place showings in 2005-06 and 2009-10.
