The ME&GEMS Junior Badminton Championship 2024, organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education in collaboration with the Myanmar Badminton Federation, concluded with the finals and prize-giving ceremony at the National Badminton Indoor Stadium in Lanmadaw Township, Yangon, yesterday evening.
In the men’s doubles final for the under-19 category, the duo of Hpone Htet Zaw and Nyan Shine Lin secured victory over Lar Zwee Deka and Thurein Kyaw in a closely contested match, winning two sets to one.
The tournament featured finals across various age groups, including under-9, under-11, under-13, under-15, under-17, and under-19, with events for men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories.
Myanmar Badminton Federation Chair U Aung Paing, Lanmadaw Township Administrator U Kaung Myat Kyaw, and representatives from UAB, ME&GEMS, and SP GEMS awarded medals and cash prizes to the winners.
