Cumulus Media declared yesterday (12/5) that KCMO 95.7 FM and 710 AM has incorporated veteran Kansas City broadcaster Kevin Kietzman into the station’s weekday lineup with the debut of his new midday program, “Kevin Kietzman Uncanceled.” The show started this week and is broadcast on KCMO from Monday to Friday between 10:00 am-11:00 am. Kietzman is a prominent figure in the Midwest, having hosted his successful sports/talk radio show in Kansas City for more than two decades. He is also the host of the “Kevin Kietzman Has Issues” podcast, which discusses Kansas City news, sports, and politics. Donna Baker, regional VP/MM, Cumulus Kansas City, expressed to TALKERS, “Under Pete’s guidance, KCMO Talk Radio has become one of the fastest growing stations in the Midwest. Kevin’s enthusiasm and dedication to his work make him an ideal match for the KCMO Talk Radio audience and our advertising partners.” Pete Mundo, KCMO PD and morning show host, remarked: “During my time in Kansas City, we have honored our commitment, ‘If it’s happening IN KCMO, it’s ON KCMO.’ Few have entertained and informed Kansas City listeners for more than two decades like Kevin Kietzman. His talent in engaging fans—covering everything from our Championship sports teams to the local news scene, national politics, or pop culture—makes him the perfect addition to KCMO Talk Radio.” Kevin Kietzman stated: “It’s fantastic to return to radio but even more thrilling to be involved with something as dynamic as KCMO Talk Radio, now at 95.7 FM. I’ve known Pete Mundo for years, and absolutely no one in KC media works harder or is more committed to serving listeners than Pete and the Cumulus Media management team. It’s a great opportunity to follow his well-received morning show, where Kansas City tunes in daily to catch up on what’s happening throughout Missouri and Kansas.” Kietzman continued: “These times are historic. Americans have made it clear that we value free speech, we have the most popular sports team in the world here in our city, and I can’t wait to return to the airwaves to discuss it all. I look forward to connecting with many of you who have been listening over the years. Let’s go!”
