Knights volleyball announces 28-match slate for 2025

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Volleyball season is upon us once again as Bellarmine University volleyball head coach Rick Nold reveals the team’s schedule for the 2025 season.

The Knights will play a 28-match regular season slate with 11 home contests and a full 16 match ASUN conference schedule. For the first half of the season, Bellarmine will play in four multi-team events, highlighted by the 2025 Bellarmine Classic presented by Holiday Garden Inn.

Before the Knights officially open the new season, they will travel to Bowling Green, KY on August 16 for a scrimmage with Western Kentucky.

Bellarmine will begin its 2025 campaign August 29-30 with the Bellarmine Classic presented by Hilton Garden Inn, welcoming Indiana State, Miami (OH) and SIUE to Knights Hall. BU will play its first two matches on Friday August 29, first taking on Indiana State at 12 pm E.T. before closing the day against Miami (OH) at 7:30 pm E.T. The Knights will finish their opening weekend on Saturday, August 30 with a final match against SIUE at 2 pm E.T.

The following week, Bellarmine will hit the road for the LD&B Insurance Invitational, hosted by James Madison University September 5-6 where the Knights will take on host James Madison along with Princeton and Lehigh.

Bellarmine will continue its road trip the next two weekends with its final two multi-team events. September 11-13, BU will participate in the Hampton Inn Invitational in Indianapolis, IN where they will face off against host IU Indy, Northern Illinois and Gonzaga. One week later, the Knights will play their final MTE at the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational, taking on Mercyhurst, Toledo and Purdue Fort Wayne September 19-20.

Atlantic Sun Conference play begins the next with the Knights returning home for the first time in nearly a full month as they welcome Eastern Kentucky on Friday, September 26 and Stetson on Sunday, September 28. BU will open October with two road matches at Lipscomb on Friday, October 3 and Austin Peay on Saturday, October 4. The Knights will return home the next weekend for matches against West Georgia on Friday, October 10 and Queens on Saturday, October 11 before hitting the road for four straight away matches, their longest stretch of the conference schedule. Bellarmine will first travel to Florida to take on Jacksonville and North Florida on October 17 and 18, respectively, before closing the trip with matches at Central Arkansas on October 24 and North Alabama on October 26. The Knights close October and begin November at Knights Hall, hosting Austin Peay on Halloween night (October 31) and Lipscomb on November 1. The next weekend, BU will play its final two regular season road matches of the year, traveling to Eastern Kentucky on November 7 and FGCU on November 9. Bellarmine will close out the regular season at home for the second consecutive season, hosting Central Arkansas on November 14 and North Alabama on November 15.

The Knights will have four promo days this season. On September 28, BU will host Camper Day, inviting all volleyball camp goers from the last two years to the match against Stetson. October 10-11 will be a busy weekend in Knights Hall as Bellarmine holds its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day on October 10 against West Georgia with Alumni Day coming on October 11 against Queens. Finally, the Knights will celebrate Halloween in style with a match on October 31 against Austin Peay. On November 15 against North Alabama, the final home match of the season, Bellarmine will honor its senior class. More information for these promo dates will become available as each date draws closer.

The ASUN Volleyball Championships are scheduled for November 20-23 in Fort Myers, FL.
