Oklahoma State’s Stailee Heard (player) and Kansas’ Regan Williams (freshman) acquired weekly league recognition following the fifth week of the 2024-25 women’s basketball season.

Heard posted 29 points in OSU’s 93-39 victory over Houston Christian which included the sophomore guard making all seven of her attempts from beyond the arc for the best single-game 3-point percentage performance in school history. The 7-for-7 shooting from 3-point shooting range tied for the second-best in Big 12 history, behind only Iowa State’s Stacy Frese (8-8) in 1999. Heard also grabbed 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. The native of Sapulpa, Oklahoma followed up the performance by tallying her first career 30-point game with 32 points on an 11-of-18 shooting effort against Alabama State, including knocking down eight of her 11 3-point attempts along with 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. The eight 3-pointers were part of OSU’s 20 made threes, tied for the most in a single game by a team in league history.  Heard made her first five 3-pointers of the contest, giving her a string of 13 consecutive makes from three, one shy of matching the NCAA record of 14 consecutive made 3-pointers. This is the 2024 Big 12 All-Freshman Team member’s first league Player of the Week title.

Williams recorded her first career double-double helping the Jayhawks claim a 70-60 victory over Wichita State, the team’s fourth-straight win. The freshman from Kansas City, Missouri had career highs in both points (13) and rebounds (11) while adding a steal and one block. The forward’s 11 rebounds led all league freshmen for a single game during the week while her 13 points tied for second.  This is Williams’ first weekly honor.
