The girls’ basketball team from Bardstown High School achieved a remarkable comeback against Owensboro Catholic, outpacing them 24-5 in the final quarter to turn a 15-point deficit into a 57-53 victory on Saturday night during the Independence Bank Tip-Off Classic held at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
The Lady Aces, competing on their home court (1-1), had a solid 48-33 lead after three quarters. However, the Lady Tigers (1-1) capitalized on a series of turnovers and scored quickly to reduce the gap in Catholic’s advantage. Bardstown’s guard Nariyah Crowe netted six straight points, culminating the Lady Tigers’ impressive 19-2 scoring burst that opened the fourth quarter, giving her team a 52-50 lead with just 1:40 on the clock.
