OXFORD, OhioMaggie Lambdin secured a spot at Diving Zones as the Dartmouth Women’s Swim and Dive team concluded three days of competition at the Miami invite, placing third behind Miami of Ohio and Indiana State.

“I am happy with the insights we’ve gained during this competition and believe we’re positioned for an exhilarating second half of the season,” stated head coach Milana Socha. “Leaving the midpoint of the season with new team records, Top 10 program times, and numerous athletes achieving lifetime bests is promising for what lies ahead! Our divers, in particular, performed notably well this meet, which was fantastic to witness.”

Addy Domian spearheaded the distance squad with a 9th place finish in the 1650 freestyle. Maria Uranga followed suit with another 9th place finish, clinching victory in the B-final heat of the 200 backstroke with a personal best time of 2:00.17, now ranking her seventh overall among program’s top-10 performers. A standout moment in the 100 freestyle was Elizabeth Ann Stromberger achieving a collegiate best time. Jamie Legh capped off a remarkable few days of racing with a 2nd place finish in the 200 butterfly, clocking in at 1:59.99.

Maggie Lambdin and Klara Johnson Stjernström took the top two spots on platform, finishing strong in the diving section of the meet. Maggie’s score of 231.75 earns her qualification for NCAA Diving Zones, the preliminary round of the NCAA Championship meet.

To conclude the competition, the 400 freestyle A-relay team consisting of Sam Li, Lane Murray, Maddie Blackwell, and Jamie Legh achieved a time of 3:23.62, marking the ninth fastest time in the program’s history.

The Big Green will enter a solid training period and will return to full team competition in the new year against Bates College on January 4th, following the distance team’s participation in the CSCAA Open Water National meet in Miami, Florida on December 15th.
