This year, LOF is back teaching adaptive athletes how to ski at their usual post on the slopes of Mount Southington. 
Anderau, who has been with LOF for the past decade, said, “The freedom of skiing is just awesome — you can go fast, you can just enjoy turning, and the environment is so refreshing.”
Leaps of Faith is continuing their mission to help those with disabilities wanting to ski.

“It does so much for me because it gives me access to the outside world,” Savio said. “[LOF] has given me access and connections to people again which is an amazing thing.”

LOF runs waterski programs for adaptive athletes in the summer as well. To learn more about LOF Adaptive Skiers, click here.
Savio, who has been involved with LOF for at least the past three winters, took to the trails on a cold, clear Thursday atop the man-made snow.
Peter Anderau, lead coordinator of the winter program at LOF, said, “We have taken people out for example who have had an amputation, we’ve taken people out who have had strokes, autism, Down syndrome. We take individuals who are blind out skiing.”

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. — Leaps of Faith Adaptive Skiers, or LOF, make the most of their time and talents each winter season.
