Alexis Brown – 2nd, 23.73
Not to be out done, Alexis Brown set a season’s best and won the 60m with a time of 7.26. She took down a Canadian Olympian in the process. Brown also took second in the 200m dash, finishing with a season best time of 23.73, the second fastest time in DII this year. Sharonda Priester hit the provisional time for the 400 meters with a finishing time of 56.15, taking 11th in the meet.
60m Hurdles
Liam Sutton – 6th, 8.29
On the men’s side, freshman Havyn Spain took sixth in a DII provisional time of 48.42. He was the first DII finisher to cross the line, only coming in behind competitors from Virginia Tech, High Point, and Duke. Liam Sutton took sixth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.29. In the prelims, Sutton crossed the line in 8.21, giving him a new personal best in the event. Jacob Parkinson lowered his own school record in the mile with a time of 4:11.88, good for 10th.

Melody Jones can absolutely fly. The senior from Chicago set a new school record in the 60m hurdles this weekend at Virginia Tech, taking third with a time of 8.37. This also makes her the third fastest DII athlete in the event this year, as the two sprinters who took first and second in the event were from Duke and North Carolina.

Holly Kone – 7th, 11.80m
60m Hurdles
Melody Jones – 3rd, 8.45
On the field side of things, Mathilde Etienne hit the provisional mark in the Pentathlon, finishing with 3.329 points. During the event, Etienne set personal bests in the 60m hurdles (9.61), high jump (1.52m), and the long jump (5.48m)

In the men’s field events, Nikolas Cardillo jumped into top five all-time in school history with a leap of 14.49m (47-6.50), hitting the DII provisional mark right on the nose. Competing in the high jump for just the third time this season, Kahlil West took sixth with a mark of 2.01m (6-7.00).
