I’m watching my grandson play Little League sports, and I still see coaches and parents feel that if their child doesn’t get to play, they are not going to become professional athletes. But only a handful continue to play in high school, fewer go on to play in college and only a few get a professional contract.
Let all the kids play and develop while they are young so they develop a love for the game and their bodies. Also, making new friends and not getting too serious about sports is important. Focus more on academics and give children a better chance to get a good education — they can go into the medical or engineering or business fields.
Now I could also write about the coaches and referees getting abused at times, and the importance of not allowing kids to fight during the games.
Let’s play ball and have fun.
