SPOKANE, Wash. – University High School wrestler Libby Roberts is making headlines as she competes in the 2025 USA Wrestling Women’s National Championship in Spokane this weekend.
Roberts discovered wrestling at age 8 while watching her brother compete. She spotted a girls’ tournament at the same gym and was immediately captivated by the sport.
Her father and coach noted her determination, saying, “She never looked back, and a few days later, she was on the mat.”
In February, Roberts joined an elite group of girls by winning her fourth state title in Tacoma. This achievement is rare, with only four other girls in state history reaching this milestone.
Now, as she competes on the national stage, many of her peers are rallying behind her. They say she serves as a significant inspiration, breaking barriers for girls in the local community.
