Lincoln Park USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget Recap | September 20, 2025 – Speedway Digest

Matt Lux returned to victory lane for the first time during the 2025 USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget season on Saturday night at Honest Abe Roofing Lincoln Park Speedway.

Lux (Manilla, Indiana), who was also the VMS Motorsports Fast Qualifier, led all 25 laps from the pole for his first series win since May 2024 at the very same 5/16-mile dirt oval in Putnamville, Indiana. Overall, it’s Lux’s fourth career points-paying victory with the series.

Following Lux to the line were point leader Tyler Nelson (Olathe, Kansas) in second. Jalen Cox (Winchester, Indiana) ran third with Buddy Hollmeyer (Norwood, Ohio) fourth and Alex Watson (Columbus, Ohio) fifth.

Cox received the Rosewood Machine & Tool Precision Move of the Race after advancing from sixth to third for his first career podium finish with the series.

Meanwhile, Brayden Schwartz (Troy, Ohio) was the Performance Powder Coating Hard Charger, moving from 10th to sixth in the main event. Chase Hodge (Pittsboro, Indiana) received the LynK Chassis bonus for finishing 10th in the feature. Jim Jones (Ventura, California) was the recipient of the Lynn Cook – A Racer’s Friend Hard Luck Award after struggling with brake and steering issues that led to an early retirement in the feature.
