Dan Grapski (two RBI) went 2-for-4 and drove in the winning run as BB&N beat Brooks 9-6 in Independent School League action. Ryan Clay finished 4-for-4 with two RBI, and Declan Wilkes got the win on the mound for the Knights.

Landon Evangelho went the distance, giving up two earned runs while Illiam Santiago had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI as Greater New Bedford (5-6) defeated Seekonk 8-6 in the South Coast Conference. … Gabe Zuber (three hits, RBI), Garret Butler (two hits, RBI), Sean Lundrigan (two hits, double, two RBI) and Cam Sylvia (two hits, double, three RBI) turned in multi-hit performances for Apponequet (6-3) in a 10-9 win over Case.

Ronald Del Rosario Gomez went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and six RBI, while Eli MacIver went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, a walk and three RBI as Nantucket coasted to a 20-3 Cape and Islands League victory over Rising Tide in five innings.

Billy Gavin racked up six strikeouts over his third straight complete game, while Davante Layne went 3-for-4 as Malden (12-1) beat Somerville 6-3 in the Greater Boston League.

In the Northeastern Conference, Jamison Ford went the distance and gave up one run, three hits, and struck out six while also chipping in on offense with a single, double, and two RBI as Swampscott topped Danvers 15-1. … Graham Gavin pitched a no-hitter for Beverly in an 8-0 win over Saugus.

Jared Hardiman and Ryan Barrett drove in two runs each, while Nick Pino had two stolen bases and two runs scored as East Bridgewater defeated Norwell 5-3 in the South Shore League.

Carson McCarthy came through with an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to lift Catholic Memorial (5-7) to a 4-3 win over St. John’s (Shrewsbury). … Paul McCarthy tossed a three-hit shutout as Xaverian (11-2) defeated BC HIgh, 2-0.

Dylan Crean (three hits, two RBI) and Cam Lynch (five RBI) bolstered the offense, while Lincoln Loftus tossed six scoreless innings of one-hit ball with nine strikeouts as Wellesley (8-3) won 9-0 over Needham in the Bay State Conference.

Drew Mullaney (2-for-2, two walks, double, four RBI), Ben Chisholm (2-for-3, walk, double, two RBI, two runs), Mateus Feick (2-for-3, RBI, two runs) and Anthony Bonacorso (1-for-2, two walks, three RBI, two runs) led the bats for Pingree (7-3) in a 13-2 NEPSAC win over Bancroft.

Connor Hammond drove in three runs, Garrett Mahoney (2-for-4, RBI) scored twice and Lincoln-Sudbury (9-3) edged Newton South 7-5 in Dual County League play.

Matt Almeida threw an abbreviated six inning no-hitter with a walk and eight strikeouts, giving up an unearned run while going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI as Durfee defeated Brockton 11-1 in the Southeast Conference. Matt Sherry went 3-for-4 with two RBI and three stolen bases for the Hilltoppers.

Boys lacrosse

Peyton Volz (assist), Chris Hill (assist), TJ Willis and Sean Pechulis scored two goals each as Southeastern defeated Westport 10-1 in the Mayflower Athletic Conference. … James Hoey scored a hat trick, while Mario LaRosa (assist) and Brady Hofeman had a goal each as South Shore Voke (10-1) defeated Old Colony, 5-2.

Matthew Grafton (eight assists) and Gunner Hanna (three assists) tallied four goals each, while Lee Spry finished with a hat trick as Abington bested Hull 17-6 in a South Shore League matchup. … Oliver Rice (five goals, assist), Teddy Glynn (four goals, assist), Matt Pantilla (three goals, two assists) and Ty Lambert scored for Norwell in a 13-5 win over Sandwich.

Nick Donovan (assist) and Henry Card buried hat tricks, and Christian Renaud recorded two goals and two assists as Pingree defeated Cushing Academy 13-1 in NEPSAC action.

Finn Wright (five goals, two assists), Luke Wile (four goals, assist) and Vin Winter (two goals, assist) propelled Ipswich past Amesbury 12-4 in the Cape Ann League.

Girls lacrosse

Mara Levesque and Gia Papa scored four goals each as Dighton-Rehoboth (8-4) cruised to a 21-1 South Coast Conference victory over Greater New Bedford.

Emmette Barry and Allie Buonaccorsi netted four goals apiece, while Emily Berube and Delaney Berube notched a hat trick each as Bishop Feehan rolled to a 23-11 nonleague win over Bridgewater-Raynham.

Amanda Linteris struck for five goals, while Reese Bromby finished with four goals and two assists as Newburyport took down North Reading 18-8 in the Cape Ann League.

Libby Schiffman buried a hat trick, and Kate Greer had two goals and two assists as Cohasset (9-1) rolled to a 13-0 South Shore League win over Rockland.

Avery Valicenti registered eight goals and supplied two assists as Archbishop Williams topped St. Mary’s (Lynn) 14-12 in the Catholic Central League.

Softball

In a Middlesex League game, Chloe Seto led the way with five RBI as Wakefield defeated Reading 10-5. … Sara Keck struck out 14 over seven innings of work, while Evie LaClair homered and Summer Sansa had two hits and two RBI as Wilmington topped Belmont, 7-3.

In the Northeastern Conference, Tessa Francis faced 23 batters and struck out 19, her second no hitter of the year, as Marblehead blanked Salem, 4-0. … Elsa Reulet went 2-for-4 with four RBI, Gabbi Wickeri went 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Athena Mckenna went 3-for-3 with two RBI as Beverly outscored Saugus, 13-6.

Mylee Ramer tossed another gem, striking out nine and allowing one earned run on two hits and one walk over six innings pitched while delivering three hits and three RBI (including a two-run double) at the plate as Bishop Feehan routed Bishop Fenwick 14-2 in the Catholic Central League. Gwen Camara added three hits and three RBI (including a two-run triple) for the Shamrocks. … Abbey Sousa (2-for-3, home run, run, four RBI) powered the offense, while Aliza Crean-Oviedo struck out six and surrendered one earned run over six innings as St. Mary’s (Lynn) (5-4) edged Archbishop Williams, 5-4.

Kiley Hogan (1-for-2, home run) fanned 14 over five and two-thirds shutout innings, surrendering one hit as Tyngsboro defeated Clinton 6-0 in the Midland Wachusett League Division C. Kristin Deschenes had two hits and two RBI for the Tigers.

Isabella Briones singled to drive in Macy Ingraham for the winning run for Millis in the eighth inning in a 2-1 Tri-Valley League victory over Dedham. … Alessandra Cautilli (four hits, two doubles, three runs, two RBI), Alysson Fagan (three hits, three runs, RBI), Katie Anderson (inside-the-park home run, four RBI), Bryanna Frauton (two hits, two runs, three RBI), Ali Hamilton (two hits, run, two RBI) and Shae O’Neill (two hits, two runs, two RBI) had multi-hit performances for Medway (5-5) in a 16-2 win over Ashland in five innings.

Penelope Riggs went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs, and Anna Gardner struck out eight over a complete game effort as Manchester-Essex defeated Newburyport 8-5 in Cape Ann League play.

Jackie Giordano pitched a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts and went 2-for-3 offensively with two doubles, and Kendall Lee scored the winning run for Brooks in the eighth inning in a 1-0 Independent School League win over Lawrence Academy.

Noey Giardina contributed four hits and scored three runs, while Nora Barrett and Abby Minasi (three hits, three runs, two RBI) homered as Hanover (7-3) defeated Scituate 12-8 in the Patriot League.

Piper Levin (3-for-4, triple, two RBI), Emilie Dawidow (two RBI) and Molly Beale (2-for-2) fueled the offense, while Riley Chaplin punched out 10 and gave up two earned runs over seven innings of work for Notre Dame (Hingham) (6-2) in a 9-4 Catholic Conference win over Fontbonne.

Lila Alvarez fanned 13 while allowing just four hits and two runs from the circle, and her two-hit day paired with a three-run homer from Breanna Fontes and a solo shot from Cailyn Durand to lead Case over Apponequet, 4-2, in South Coast Conference action.

Rebecca Hornung reached her 100th strikeout in just eight games this season as Southeastern rolled to a 12-6 win over Blue Hills in the Mayflower Athletic Conference.

A two-run single from Kendall O’Neil and a two-run inside-the-park home run from Kate Fosco lifted Braintree over Bay State Conference foe Natick, 7-6.

PARTNERSHIP RECOGNIZED — The partnership between Weir High School and Blue Stream Farms has been recognized as one of eight regional finalists in the inaugural West Virginia School-Business Partnership of the Year Awards. The statewide winner will be announced May 15. — Contributed

WEIRTON — A partnership between a local high school and area organization is one of eight regional finalists in the West Virginia Education Alliance’s inaugural Hope for the Future: West Virginia School-Business Partnership of the Year Awards.

Weir High School’s partnership with Blue Stream Farms will receive a $2,000 grant and compete with the other seven finalists for consideration as State Partnership of the Year, with the award announced at the Education Summit on May 15 featuring an appearance by West Virginia native and actress Jennifer Garner.

The winner will receive an award package valued at $25,000.

Through the partnership, which features Blue Stream Farms’ aquaponics and hydroponics platforms, Weir High students learn about plant biology, while developing entrepreneurial skills including marketing, sales, and financial literacy.

As part of the program, students grew and sold microgreens as part of Birch Creek Farmery’s Market Days in December.

“The Partnership of the Year Award highlights the incredible impact of school-business partnerships on students across West Virginia,” said Amelia Courts, president and CEO of the Education Alliance. “We are thrilled to partner with Hope Gas on this initiative and to congratulate Weir High School for this remarkable recognition.”

Hancock County Schools officials recognized participating students and representatives of Blue Stream Farms during the April 14 meeting of the Hancock County Board of Education.

In addition to Weir High, Region 3 will be represented by the partnership of Warwood Middle School and West Liberty University.

Other finalists include Pocahontas County Schools and Nature’s Mountain Classroom; Mercer County Technical Education Center and Conn-Weld Industries; The WIN Academy and WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals; Nitro High School and Appalachian Power; Hardy County Schools and Pilgrim’s Pride; and North Elementary School and Black and White Small Business Solution.

1. Milestones and moments

We declared the number of the day was 100, but we have to start with a 400, as in Whittier boys’ lacrosse senior Conor Walsh, who netted his 400th career point by posting three goals and four assists in a 13-11 win over Triton.

Now on to the 100s. Let’s begin with Seekonk sophomore Evelyn Crane, who netted her 100th career goal in a 20-8 win over Somerset Berkley. See what we meant about the letter ‘S’?

But we’re not done. Sandwich senior Cole Rodgers scored twice, including his 200th varsity goal, in a 13-5 loss to Norwell. Southeastern’s Rebecca Hornung recorded her 100th career strikeout by sitting down 14 batters in a 12-6 win over Blue Hills. Weymouth’s Jill Ondrick also recorded her 100th strikeout, but hers was of the season (43 innings), as she fanned 15 Framingham batters.

Before we go on to the walk-off winners, there were a couple of significant results Wednesday that need mentioning. Latin Academy handed English High baseball a 4-3 defeat, marking English’s first Boston City League loss since 2022.

The top-ranked St. John’s (Shrewsbury) baseball team fell, 4-3, to a Catholic Memorial team that improved to 3-7 behind big offensive showings from Liam McKinney and Carson McCarthy.

Over at St. John Paul II, Logan Our (3 innings, 6 strikeouts) and Colin Buckley (2 innings, 3 Ks) combined for a five-inning no-hitter in a 19-0 demolition of Sturgis West.

2. Walk-off wins

It wasn’t a big day for sudden victories, but there were a few worth noting: Caine Allen hit into the walk-off error that scored Preston George and gave Whitman-Hanson a 4-3 victory over Silver Lake, Isabella Briones singled home Macy Ingraham from second in the eighth inning during a 2-1 Millis victory over Dedham, and Logan Shannon netted the overtime winner for Norton boys’ lacrosse in a 10-9 win over Dedham.

3. Five stars

There were too many impressive performances to limit our star count to three, so we’re expanding.

Tessa Francis, Marblehead — Her second no-hitter of the season featured a whopping 19 strikeouts among the 23 batters she faced during a 4-0 win over Salem.

Jackie Giordano, Brooks — The senior from Andover was an error away from a perfect game, striking out 16 while allowing no hits or walks to beat Lawrence Academy, 1-0.

Cate Larson, Taunton — Stepping up as the top-ranked Tigers’ ace this season, Larson fired her first no-hitter to silence No. 2 King Philip, 4-0. Larson struck out 13 in a rematch of last year’s Division 1 title game.

Jordan O’Malley, Salem — The 6-foot-3-inch senior righthander tossed six one-hit innings, striking out six, and added three hits and three RBIs in a 14-0 win over Marblehead.

Luke Rogan, Mansfield — The Nichols-bound senior could have been listed under the walk-offs, as he single in the bottom of the seventh finished a 4-3 Hockomock win over Foxborough. But Rogan did so much more, allowing just one earned run in six innings with seven strikeouts and collecting two hits, including a double.

Speaking of Mansfield, one of the most impressive web gems of the season came from Hornets second baseman Brendan Vokey, who dove to his right to knock down a sharply hit ball, then flipped it to second for the force out.

4. Going, going, gone

Did we mention the inside-the-park home run theme? It starts with Dennis-Yarmouth sophomore Brooke Chicoine, who laced a pair of four-baggers that didn’t leave the park, accounting for eight RBIs in a 26-19 loss to Falmouth. Braintree’s Kate Fosco and Medway’s Katie Anderson also skedaddled around the bases for inside-the-parkers.

Olivia Guarino put on her own power display, blasting a pair of home runs in Peabody’s 14-run fourth inning during a 23-4 destruction of Winthrop. Lizzy Bettencourt and MacKenzie Landry both homered for the Tanners.

Hopkinton’s Caroline Ozmun launched a pair of blasts, including a grand slam, in a 12-0 win over Medfield, and teammate Holly Paharik added a shot of her own. Swampscott’s Caden Ross also delivered a grand slam, and King Philip’s Aniyah Bailey christened Taunton’s updated Jack Tripp park with a first-inning three-run homer to beat the Tigers in a battle of the top two teams in the state.

The rest of the day’s longballs belonged to Bishop Feehan’s Olivia Abren, Apponequet’s Brianna Fontes, St. John’s Prep’s Will Shaheen, Braintree’s Lexi Donahue, Wilmington’s Eva LaClair, Holliston’s Ben Maiorano, Beverly’s Elsa Reulet, Lynnfield’s Angelina O’Hara and Morgan Hubbard, and Brooks’s Shayne King.

For Saint Anselm women’s lacrosse, senior Elizabeth Driscoll, a Marblehead graduate, was named Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Year for the second time in three seasons, becoming the fourth player in conference history to claim the award twice. She posted a .541 save percentage and was second in the league with 10.06 saves per game.

Hawks freshman Ayla McDermod, a Hanover High graduate, was dubbed NE-10 Rookie of the Year after posting 44 goals, including three game winners.

When Cape Cod Academy and Sturgis West met on the tennis court on Wednesday, one team was going to emerge still undefeated while the other was going to have to leave with their first loss of the season.

The match itself did not disappoint as the Seahawks (9-0) battled to a 3-2 victory over the Navigators (4-1).

The Seahawks collected a pair of wins in singles, led by Ayden Naydenov, who defeated Francisco Garcia Raya 7-6(5), 6-1 in second singles. Garrett Wilson defeated Robert Muhov 6-2, 6-2 in third singles. Connor Hall and Declan Livingston defeated George Foster and Thomas Nutbrown in a three-set thriller (6-7(4) 6-3, 6-0) to clinch the match.

The Navigators’ Ray Zhang defeated Ben Catalano 6-0, 6-3 in first singles, while Mason Smith and Caleb Smith defeated Henry Daigle and Rowan Lewison 6-4, 7-6(4) in second doubles.

Nauset 5, Dennis-Yarmouth 0: The Warriors stopped a slide of two matches with a Cape and Islands league win over the Dolphins (1-8), who have struggled losing their last seven outings.

Anjali O’Brien defeated Kelsang Gurung 6-0, 6-1 in first singles, Sophia Votteler defeated Lia Adames 6-3, 7-5 in second singles, and Haley Jackson defeated Maddy Stewart 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 in third singles.

Faye Adams and Chloe Hand defeated Maddy Burgess and Aimee Teague 6-1, 6-2 in first doubles, and Callie Murphy and Addie Kelsey defeated Willasia Thompson and Alan Carnegie 6-0, 6-0 in second doubles.

Baseball 

Cape Tech 12, Bristol Aggie 1: The Crusaders (2-3) are back in the win column after three straight defeats with a league win over Bristol Aggie.

Nolan Baker pitched three innings, surrendered just three hits and one earned run to go with four strikeouts. He helped his cause as he recorded two hits, three RBIs and scored twice. Mike Shea closed out the last two innings with a pair of strikeouts. Conner Gent went 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBIs, and two runs. Will Mullin tallied a trio of hits and RBIs. Jackson Otis had two hits, two RBIs and two runs.

Falmouth 5, Dennis-Yarmouth 4: The Clippers (7-3) improved to 3-1 in Cape and Islands league play behind Tre’Chaun Days, who pitched a complete game. He allowed just six hits, two earned runs, walked three and struck out six.

Jack Frostholm went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Connor Scarpellini was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Brody Palmer went 1-for-2 with a huge sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to give the Clippers a 5-3 lead, which wound up being the decisive run scored.

Hudson Campbell pitched six strong innings for the Dolphins (7-3), where he allowed just two earned runs. Ben Rondina went 2-for-4 and scored a run.

Martha’s Vineyard 4, Monomoy 1: The Vineyarders (3-5) stopped a two-game losing streak with a strong win over the Sharks (6-3).

Eli Bryant threw a complete game two-hitter, allowed one unearned run, and struck out five batters. Leo Napoir was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored. Hunter Johnson was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Chace Robbins struck out 10 batters in the loss. He gave up six hits and three runs over five innings, while walking three. Tyler Layton tallied the lone RBI for the Sharks on a ground out. Chase Yarletts had one hit to go with two stolen bases. The Sharks recorded four stolen bases as a team.

Nantucket 20, Rising Tide 3 (5 inn.): The Whalers (4-5) ended a run of three straight losses.

Ronald Del Rosario Gomez went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and six RBIs. Eli MacIver went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, one walk and three RBIs. Bodhi Buccino earned the win on the mound with 2 2/3 innings pitched. He allowed just one earned run.

St. John Paul II 19, Sturgis 0 (5 inn.): The undefeated Lions (11-0) threw their second no-hitter in the last three days on a day where 10 players recorded a hit, including Luke Souza (two RBIs) and Dylan Smith (one RBI), who both recorded their first varsity hits.

The Lions put up 11 runs in the second inning to pull away. Logan Our went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Our and Colin Buckley combined for the no-hitter with just three walks and nine strikeouts.

The Navigators (0-5) are still looking for their first win of the year.

Dighton-Rehoboth 10, Bourne 0: The Canalmen (1-10) dropped to a 10th defeat in a row. James Moran-Rose had the lone hit for the Canalmen, while Griffin Kelly only allowed four earned runs on the mound.

Upper Cape 3, South Shore Tech 1: The Rams (6-3) had a bounce back win. Devyn Shultze pitched a three-hitter and struck out 13 batters, while only walking one. Brady Sprague earned his first varsity save in relief.

Mitchell Kirkland led the offense with a double, a single and a RBI. He scored two runs. Matt Niemiec, Jake Ewing and Asher Graff each had a hit to lead the offense.

Barnstable 10, Nauset 8: The Red Hawks (2-7) ended a four-game losing streak. The Warriors (1-10) fell to an eighth straight defeat.

Eric Stanley led Barnstable offensively, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, a RBI and three stolen bases. Matt Meagher went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and three stolen bases. Gio White earned the win on the mound, allowing one run over four innings while striking out three.

Softball 

Sturgis 15, St. John Paul II 14: The Storm (7-2) held on to remain undefeated in league play at 4-0. The Lions (3-5) lost for a fourth time in a row.

Ryley Mayo led the way with four hits and three runs scored, while Julianna Grygent tallied three hits and a run for Sturgis. Sam Orcutt and Molly Reino both recorded two hits and scored twice. Elsa Weisner, Aubrey Flynn, Bella Enos and Cassidy Conway (home run) all had two hits and a run. The game ended with an unassisted double play by Reino.

Upper Cape 14, South Shore Tech 5: The Rams (6-3) improved to 2-0 in league play behind Kaiya Thomas, who went 3-for-4, scored three times and drove in another run.

Amya Irving tripled to score a pair of runs and Kenley Thomas and Jaelynn Harraden each tallied two RBIs. Defensively, Taysia Lopes shut down the Vikings with 10 strikeouts. The Rams infield was magnificent, throwing out runners all over the field, including Lucy Pesta. She threw out a runner at home plate. 

Nauset 13, Barnstable 1 (5 inn.): The Warriors (4-7) have notched back-to-back wins for the first time this season. The Red Hawks (2-8) have dropped their last two outings. Brynn Kew threw a one-hitter, allowed no earned runs and registered 12 strikeouts in a complete game.

Sandwich 10, Carver 1: The Blue Knights (7-5) halted a two-game losing streak. Maddie Brown and Sofie Farrington combined for the win on the mound. Capri Barber, Laci Pola, Jenna Fay, Abby  McCartin and Sofie Farrington led the offense.

Dighton-Rehoboth 18, Bourne 2: The Canalmen (0-12) slumped to a tough defeat. Michaela Muldoon got on base three times and scored on a walk with the bases loaded, while Brooke Weighted scored the other run on a passed ball.

Falmouth 26, Dennis-Yarmouth 19: The Clippers (5-4) won their fifth straight game in a wild one with the Dolphins (3-5).

Rising Tide 7, Nantucket 5: The Whalers (1-7) lost for a fourth straight time.

Boys Lacrosse 

Upper Cape 6, Tri-County 5: The Rams (3-4) have collected two wins from their last five games, with the latest ending a two-game losing steak.

Norwell 13, Sandwich 5: Cole Rodgers, who scored twice, hit 200 goals for his career in the Blue Knights (6-4) loss, which ended their four-game win streak. Tucker Carline, Thomas Sutton and Luke Rodgers all scored once. Than Hunt made five saves.

Fairhaven 17, Bourne 4: The Canalmen (4-5) have lost their last two games. Charlie Sietz and Sean Kelley had a goal and an assist each, Ryan Haden record an assist, and Ty Hawkes and Max Ridl both scored once.

Girls Lacrosse 

Barnstable 13, Mashpee 4: The Red Hawks (4-6) halted a run of two games without a win behind Emelie Jonsson (six goals and four assists) and Morgan Mueller (13 saves). Gigi De Toledo added four goals, while Caroline Meins, Caroline Curley and Claire Kayajan all tallied a goal each.

The Falcons (6-4) saw their four-game win streak come to an end.

Upper Cape 7, Tri-County Reg. Voke 5: The Rams (3-6) stopped a run of three straight defeats.

Norwell 13, Sandwich 11: The Blue Knights (7-2) lost for the second time in five games, which also ended a two-game win streak.

Boys Volleyball 

Southeastern 3, St. John Paul II 0: The Lions (0-3) were swept (16-25, 18-25, 17-25) by Southeastern. Gabriel Paiva tallied one kill, one assist and eight digs. Cullen Lynch recorded an ace, two kills and three digs. Ben Franco chipped in two aces, three assists and seven digs, and Xavier Luz Roque finished with six digs.

Girls Outdoor Track and Field

Dennis-Yarmouth 94, Barnstable 42: The Dolphins (5-0) won 13 out of 16 events over the Red Hawks (3-2) on their way to maintaining an undefeated record.

Kerri Clark set a personal record in the 200m with a time of 25.03 seconds for D-Y. Cami DePuy also had a personal record in the shot put. Olivia Pendleton was a double winner in the 800m and the mile.

Eighth grader Whitney Sousa was a double winner for the Red Hawks. She jumped four-feet-eight-inches in the high jump and then took first in the 400m in a time of 65.7 seconds. Chari Wright won the 100m in 12.8 seconds and placed third in the long jump with a distance of 14-feet-six-inches. Sophia Morin placed in three events, taking second in the shot put (28 feet), third in the 400m hurdles (81.2 seconds), and third in the 200m (29.5 seconds).

Falmouth 68, Monomoy 61: The Clippers (1-2) got their first win of the season at the expense of the Sharks (0-4).

Mashpee 77, Cohaseet 46: The Falcons picked up a win with 11 first place finishes.

Emily Curtin was a triple winner in the long jump (leap of 15′ 6.5″), 100m (12.9), and the 200m (28.0) for Mashpee.

Mckay Auger in discus (throw of 72′), Dionah-Shae Miller in the shot put (throw of 21′ 2″), Anna Jensen in javelin (throw of 73′ 4″), Mckay Auger in the high jump (height of 4′ 4″), Anna Blackburn in the 100m hurdles (19.8), Kira Duvall 1st in the 400m in 1:10, Anna Jensen in the 800m (2:40) all finished in first. The 4x100m relay of Kassidy Holland, Aryanna Lee, Melania Frye, and Blackburn also won.

Avery Jankowsi placed second in the 100m (13.5) and 200m (29.5), while Izzy McCarthy finished second in discus (throw of 56′ 4″), and the shot put (throw of 20′ 5″). Kira Duvall ended second in the long jump (leap of 12′ 9″), and the mile (6:58).

For third places finishes, Lily Gahl in the discus (throw of 43′ 2″) and the shot put (throw of 18′ 10″), Lila Jacobson in the high jump (height of 3′ 10″), and Aryanna Lee in the 200m (30.0).

Boys Track and Field

Cohasset 102, Mashpee 32: The Falcons fell short of a team, but still had some top three individual finishers.

Logan Wills won the 100m (11.0), and placed second in the 200m (23.2) and the long jump, breaking the 20ft mark with a leap of 20′ 3″, for Mashpee.

Ryan Araujo placed third in the long jump (leap of 19′ 10″), and second in the triple jump (leap of 41′ 1″).

Grey Auger came in second in the mile (5:00), and third in the 400m (59.0).

Daniel Alade placed first in the long jump (leap of 20′ 4.5″).

Christian Alfonso in the javelin (PR throw of 100′ 3″), Nick Alade in the triple jump (leap of 33′ 5″), Jarren Brown in the high jump (a height of 5′ 0″), Jayden Williams in the 100m (11.8), and Ciaran Kotchian in the two mile (15:06) all finished in third place, while Geyer Davis placed second in the 800m (2:23).

Monomoy 77, Falmouth 59: The Sharks picked up a win over the Clippers behind Alique Brown in the 200m (22.4) and 100m (11.3), and Jon Saguese in in the triple jump (36-4.5).

Jaxon Hartley outdueled a future Division 1 pitcher, leading Swan Valley to a non-conference sweep of the eighth-ranked team in the state.

Swan Valley claimed two wins Wednesday over Hemlock, which is ranked eighth in the state in Division 3. After a 2-0 win in the opener, the Vikings beat Hemlock, 9-1, in Game 2.

Hartley, who had a hit and run on offense, struck out 11 to improve to 3-0. He gave up three hits, one walk and no runs. Hemlock ace Chad Brown, who has signed to pitch for Central Michigan University, struck out 10 and gave up one run in six innings.

Colton Klein drove in the go-ahead run with a fourth-inning double to score Hartley. Brady Stephens walked three times. Dawson Doan, Mitchell Radosa and DJ Lyscas had one hit each for Hemlock.

In the second game, Klein earned the win, allowing six hits and two walks in five innings, striking out five. Beckett Goldensoph struck out three in the final inning.

Hartley, Klein and Jackson Gebauer had two hits each for the Vikings, with Jack Lagan, Hartley and Mike Gerard driving in two runs each. Lagan also walked twice and scored three runs for the 15-5 Vikings.

Doan, Radosa, Brown, Lyscas, Gavin Schmidt and Tim Huston had one hit each in the second game for 13-4 Hemlock.

Baseball

Heritage 2-6, Midland Dow 12-4: After a disappointing loss in the opener, Heritage rebounded to split the Saginaw Valley League doubleheader. In the opener, Heritage led 2-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning before giving up 11 Dow runs. Brady Boelter led the Heritage offense with two hits, while Blake Stevens added a hit and RBI. Boelter earned the Game 2 win, giving up three walks and three earned runs in 6 2/3 inning, striking out two. Brody Banning earned the save, getting the final out with runners on first and second. Boelter, Banning and Brady Gotham had two hits each for the Hawks.

Midland High 6-2, Davison 0-8: Liam Heinz dominated Davison in the opener, allowing two hits and no runs while striking out two in seven innings for the Midland win. Eli Kell led the offense with three hits and three RBIs. Davison claimed the nightcap, scoring six runs in the bottom of the sixth. Heinz had a hit and RBI, with Cayden Nieto walking four times for the Chemics, who are 7-3 in the Saginaw Valley League.

Softball

Ithaca 1-7, Evart 0-6: Ithaca surprised Evart, sweeping the No. 1 Division 3 team in the state in a pair of one-run games. In the opener, Ivy Davenport threw a one-hitter, striking out 11 for 17-3 Ithaca. The Yellowjackets scored the lone run in the sixth inning after Maeli Akin reached on an error, coming around to score on a ground out by Karley Braman. Akin Struck out 10 to earn the win in the second game. Kennedi Ryan led the offense with three hits, with Davenport adding two, including a three-run triple to beat 12-3 Evart.

Swan Valley 14-14, Hemlock 7-2: Izzy Coffel had four hits, including a homer, and three RBIs in Swan Valley’s Game 1 win in the non-conference doubleheader. Chloe Bryce, Shiloh Charboneau, Alivia Guilbeaux and Layla Shanks added two hits each, with Guilbeaux and Shanks driving in three runs each. Lyndsey Lyscas led Hemlock in Game 1 with three hits, with Brooke Gustin and Lillian Martinez adding two hits. Martines and Carley Noyes drove in two runs each, with Noyes hitting a homer. Mia Robinson earned the win for Swan Valley, striking out seven. Charboneau, Robinson and Hailey Koch had three hits each for the Vikings in Game 2, with Greer Diefenbach adding two hits. Shanks struck out six to earn the win. Audrey Vasher hit a homer for Hemlock.

Millington 6-0, Otisville-LakeVille 1-3: Morgan Matusik earned the Game 1 win for 12-4 Millington, striking out nine and allowing three hits. Logan Matusik paced the Millington hitters in the doubleheader split with three hits and two RBIs.

Marlette 9-36, Caro 4-21: Marlette and Caro combined for 57 runs in the second game of a Marlette sweep. There are no records for most combined runs in a game, but the record for most runs by a single team is 51 set by Kalamazoo Loy Norrix in a 51-2 win over Comstock in 2021. Marlette had 36 hits, an MHSAA record for hits in a game. Shayler McIntyre led Caro, hitting for the cycle. McIntyre had five hits and drove in six runs. Maddie Stefanovsky followed with three hits, while Molly Salgat, Braylon Gutierrez and Kayleigh Harrison added two hits each. Gutierrez drove in four runs and Harrison two. In the opener, Brooklyn Osborn, who struck out six, led the offense with two hits.

Girls Soccer

Hemlock 7, Ithaca 0: Izzy Curry and Izzy Krueger scored two goals each as 5-6 Hemlock earned a Tri-Valley Conference shutout. Curry added three assists. Lexie Rump and Lauren Lagalo added single goals with Grace Murtha and Kristyn Pratt adding assists.

Midland High 7, Bay City Central 1: Alahna Beckett scored three goals as Midland High remained perfect with a Saginaw Valley League win, improving to 11-0. Theresa Wilk, Lizzy Striebel, Jensyn Ardouin and Ameris Blumenschein added single goals. Blumenschein also had two assists, with Ellee Arnold and Cadie McPeak sharing the shutout in goal. Midland outshot Central, 30-5.

Boys Track

TVC Triangular at Bay City John Glenn: Boston Streng-Beougher claimed a pair of wins for Swan Valley in the 200 (:22.51) and 400 (:49.79) in a Tri-Valley Conference triangular that also included Alma and John Glenn. Swan Valley also got wins from Hunter Albrecht in the 110 hurdles, Walker Murphy in the shot put (43-3), Simbad Murtic in the high jump (5-10) and Jamison Pelt in the long jump (20-2). Alma’s winners included Ezekiel Baltierra in the 800 (2:09.72), Thomas Larson in the 1,600 (5:07.30), Kevin Terpstra in the 3,200 (10:11.61), Christopher Churchill in the 110 hurdles (:14.94) and Caylibe Thompson in the discus (131-8).

Coleman Night Invite: St. Charles finished third with 83 points, trailing first-place Lake City. Saginaw Arts & Sciences was sixth (48), Coleman seventh (45) and Merrill eighth (34.5). Coleman earned first places by Asher Hayes in the high jump (5-6) and Dominic Lawrence in the long jump (19-10). St. Charles claimed a first in the 800 relay (1:39.10) behind Jaden Thompson, Tyler Dinninger, Gordon Bailey and Carson Howell.

MMAC Triangular at Durand: Zach Harlan won the 100 (:11.03) and 200 (:22.05) to lead Chesaning in a Mid-Michigan Activities Conference triangular that also included New Lothrop and Durand. Harlan also ran legs on Chesaning’s winning 400 relay and 800 relay. Caleb Walker, who also ran on the 400 relay, claimed victories in the 400 (:50.55) and 110 hurdles (:15.06). Jaxon Hemgesberg took firsts in the 800 (2:09.83) and 1,600 (4:48.45), with a leg on the winning 1,600 relay. Truman Danek won the 300 hurdles (:41.15) with legs on the 400 relay and 800 relay, while Eric Barancik won the high jump (6-2) with a leg on the 1,600 relay. Other Chesaning winners included Karter Brock in the 3,200 (11:43.88), Braden Burtch in the shot put (44-1 ½), Seth Schlicht in the discus (130-9), Damian Obuchowski in the pole vault (11-0) and Landon Qualls in the long jump (19-5).

JPC Quad at St. Louis: Landon Pestrue gave St. Louis a pair of wins in a Jack Pine Conference quadrangular that included Clare, Farwell and Ogemaw Heights. Pestrue won the 1,600 (4:54.46) and 3,200 (11:12.69).

JPC Quad at Sanford Meridian: Tyler Heal, James Schroder and Logan Holzinger gave Sanford Meridian wins at a Jack Pine Conference quadrangular at Sanford Meridian. Heal won the 1,600 (4:36.17), Schroder won the high jump (5-8) and Holzinger claimed the long jump (19-10). Bullock Creek’s Chris Tetloff took first in the shot put (52-2 ½).

Girls Track

TVC Triangular at Bay City John Glenn: Sydney Kuhn claimed two first places, setting a Swan Valley record in the 200 (:24.58) in a Tri-Valley Conference triangular that also included Alma and John Glenn. Kuhn also won the 100 (:12.47). Aubrey Hare gave the Vikings a win in the 300 hurdles (:48.04), with legs on Swan Valley’s winning 400 relay and 3,200 relay. Joy Evans paced Alma with wins in the 800 (2:23.67) and long jump (17-2 ½), with legs on Alma’s winning 800 relay and 1,600 relay. Myra Unruh won the shot put (27-10) and discus (97-2 ½) for the Panthers, with Ezgi Kurt claiming the 1,600 (5:57.66) and running a leg on Alma’s winning 1,600 relay. Alma’s other winners included Anna Johnson in the 3,200 (12:45.42) and Allison Sandro in the high jump (4-10), with Sandro running a leg on the 1,600 relay.

Coleman Night Invite: Ciara Ryan claimed three wins for Saginaw Arts & Sciences winning the 100 (:13.60), 200 (:27.34) and 400 (1:03.30). Morrice won the event (128.5), with Coleman fourth (86), St. Charles fifth (81), Merrill sixth (28) and SASA seventh (21.5). Landry Gomez gave St. Charles a win in the 800 (2:35.70), with Coleman’s Emily VanSickle winning the high jump (4-10).

MMAC Triangular at Durand: Ruby Gross and Makayla Reiber led Chesaning in a Mid-Michigan Activities Triangular that also included Durand and New Lothrop. Gross won the 400 (1:04.22) and 800 (2:42.14), while Reiber claimed the 300 hurdles (:51.64) and high jump (4-8). Both ran legs on Chesaning’s winning 800 relay and 1,600 relay. Annabelle Peters gave the Indians a win in the pole vault (6-6), with Chesaning also winning the 400 relay and 3,200 relay.

JPC Quad at St. Louis: Tess Farkas claimed a pair of wins for St. Louis in a Jack Pine Conference quadrangular that included Clare, Farwell and Ogemaw Heights. Farkas won the shot put (36-5 ¾) and discus (121-10). Sydney Dickman added a win in the high jump (4-6) for the Sharks.

JPC Quad at Sanford Meridian: Mattie Gagne and Autumn Fransen led Bullock Creek in a Jack Pine Conference quadrangular that also included Shepherd, Pinconning and Sanford Meridian. Gagne won the 800 (2:37.11), and Fransen won the 1,600 (5:57.08), with both running legs on the Lancers’ winning 3,200 relay. Bullock Creek, which also took first in the 400 relay, also got wins from Mikenna Nagel in the 3,200 (12:37.87) and Alyssa Marolf in the high jump (4-6).

Boys Golf

TVC Blue Jamboree: Nouvel, which is ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 4, claimed its second consecutive Tri-Valley Conference jamboree title at Valley View Farms, carding a 315. Valley Lutheran was second, Hemlock third and Ithaca fourth. Nouvel teammates Rodney Iamurri and Ian Ziegelmann shared medalist honors with 78s, followed by Nouvel’s Sean O’Grady with a 79 and Alex McCarthy with an 80. Reid Schisler shot an 81 for Valley Lutheran.

Big Thumb Jamboree: Millington won the Big Thumb Conference jamboree Wednesday with a 157, earning first place by 16 strokes. Caro was fifth with 183. Brad Coleman led Millington with a 35, with Bryce Martin shooting a 38 and Landon Germain a 44.

Birch Run 177, Byron 193: Birch Run claimed the top three spots in a Mid-Michigan Activities Conference match at Willow Brook Golf Course in Byron. Garett Martinus led the Panthers with a 35, followed by Cole Beldyga with a 41 and Mason Reis with a 42.

MSAC Jamboree: Logan Lorencz led St. Charles in the Mid-State Activities Conference jamboree at the North Star Golf Course in Ithaca. Lorencz shot a 49 to finish ninth, with Allison Zelinko and Charlie Cornford finishing with 55s.

Girls Lacrosse

Heritage 15, Flint Powers 7: Izzy Ella Sopcak led the Heritage scoring with five goals, with Claire Starke and Lily Huffman adding three goals each. Breeghan Hamilton scored two goals, with Michaela Hamilton and Payton Colley adding single goals. Breeghan Hamilton led the Hawks with three assists and two interceptions. Molly Baldwin made two saves in goal.

Girls Tennis

Midland Dow 8, Traverse City Central: In a tennis quad that brought some of the top Division 2 teams in the state to the Greater Midland Tennis Center, Dow claimed its lone win of the day in a shutout of Central. Dow’s singles winners were Dalton DeBoer, Nishi Narayan, Ruby Macheso and Anya Narayan, with doubles winners including Adelyn Wolford-Norah Lacher, Tessa Wood-Sachi Togashi, Alexa Leiti-Elisa Costeux and Lauren Yao-Evie Samocki.

Midland Dow 4, Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central 4: Dow, ranked second in the state, tied with Forest Hills Central, ranked sixth in the state in Division 2. Dow won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles behind Dalton DeBoer and Nishi Narayan, with doubles wins coming at No. 2 (Tessa Wood-Sachi Togashi) and No. 4 (Lauren Yao-Evie Samocki).

Birmingham Seaholm 6, Midland Dow 2: Birmingham Seaholm, ranked No. 3 in Division 2, claimed a win in its showdown with No. 2 Dow. The Chargers’ wins came at No. 1 doubles with a 6-3, 6-4 win for Dalton DeBoer and at No. 2 doubles with a 2-6, 7-6, 11-9 win over Tessa Wood and Sachi Tagoshi.

Hemlock 8, Alma 0: Hemlock, ranked 10th in the state, earned a pair of 8-0 wins over Alma and Ovid-Elsie to improve to 11-2. Singles winners against Alma were Carly Siler, Victoria Hauffe, Anna Nurnberg and Lindsey Tausch, with doubles wins going to Claire Beck-Allie Watson, Bree Bierman-Lily Wenzel, Alathea McMillan-Olivia Ann Chasnis and Lani Wardin-Kennedy Krabill.

Hemlock 8, Ovid-Elsie 0: Hemlock’s singles winners were Carly Siler, Victoria Hauffe, Ann Nurnberg and Lindsey Tausch. Doubles winners Claire Beck-Allie Watson, Bree Bierman-Lily Wenzel, Jyllian Corwin-Alathea McMillan and Lani Wardin-Kennedy Krabill.
