To shed new light on women’s sports, Flau’jae Johnson has entered into an equity agreement with Unrivaled, the emerging 3-on-3 women’s basketball league.

Currently a junior at LSU, Johnson is not yet eligible to join the new league due to NCAA eligibility standards. Nevertheless, her NIL agreement with the league will entitle her to an equity share in the future.

Unrivaled aims to provide WNBA athletes the opportunity to earn income and train during the offseason. The league aspires to become an institution with the highest average salaries in women’s professional sports. This financial incentive has attracted numerous professional athletes to get involved with Unrivaled.

In particular, Johnson is drawn to the financial prospects and what they signify for women.

In a CNBC interview, Johnson remarked on the potential impact such a league could have on advancing women in their fields: “I wanted to be part of something that is progressing the women’s game…These women are being compensated fairly for their work.”

In 2023, Johnson played a crucial role in her team’s championship run, bringing her team to new levels of success. Since that moment, Johnson has been on the radar of professional sports. Her multifaceted identity as a basketball player, rapper, and entrepreneur has made her a prime target for marketing.

Unrivaled plans to leverage Johnson’s influence to promote their league throughout her collegiate season, while also supporting her career in music.

In addition to her stake with Unrivaled, Johnson has partnerships with brands such as Meta, Amazon, Puma, Athlete’s Foot, and Powerade. On3 estimates Johnson’s net worth at around $1.5 million. Her accomplishments are undeniably well-earned, and her diverse talents will propel her forward as she steps into the professional arena.

Beyond Unrivaled, Johnson has also been recognized as a part of the Forbes “30 Under 30” list. At only 21, she has established one of the most sought-after names in NIL history. As she pursues her music career, Johnson has signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and is set to release her debut album in 2024 featuring rapper Lil Wayne.

Unrivaled represents Johnson’s latest venture, but it’s unlikely that her influence will end there. With a full season ahead, she is poised to make significant strides in the music industry, basketball sphere, and business realm.
