For the second straight season, LSU women’s basketball’s season came to a halt in the Elite Eight.

And in today’s era of collegiate athletics, there was no rest for the weary for Kim Mulkey and her LSU staff as the transfer portal window was open prior to the Tigers’ exit from the NCAA Tournament in Spokane, Washington, where they fell at the hands of UCLA, 72-65, Sunday night.

Mulkey said after the game that LSU would go to work in the portal immediately and she spent time on the team flight back to Baton Rouge from Washington on the phone with potential transfers.

G Last-Tear Poa

Thanks to the Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia court case that regranted student-athletes eligibility from junior college years, guard Last-Tear Poa has one more year of eligibility remaining and she has decided to take it elsewhere. Poa was a defensive stalwart of LSU’s national championship team two seasons ago but could never quite achieve a larger role on the court. Poa averaged 2 points per game this season.
