With rain expected on Friday, the Thursday slate was inflated with games being moved up, and we wrote about more than 110 games across Eastern Mass, featuring the usual selection of no-hitters, home runs, milestone moments, and walk-off wins.

1. Milestones and no-nos
What were you doing on June 2, 2023? The Triton girls’ lacrosse team was beating Tri-County in the preliminary round of the Division 4 tournament. But for the next 706 days, the Vikings went winless. Until Thursday, that is, when they topped Georgetown, 16-10.
Medway senior catcher Priya Bedard collected her 100th career hit in an 18-12 win over Medfield, Braintree junior Norah Downey recorded her 300th save in a 21-4 loss to Wellesley, Beverly’s Ashley Wallace broke the school’s girls’ lacrosse freshman scoring record with four goals and an assist, and Canton junior JJ Faulk set a school record in the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 2 inches in a 94-42 loss to Mansfield.
Lexington boys’ tennis coach Chris Pugliese won his 350th career game by beating Stoneham, 5-0. Pugliese has coached the Minutemen for 17 years.
There were a trio of no-hitters, with Dartmouth’s Kasey Pomfret shutting down Durfee for five innings with 11 strikeouts in a 17-0 drubbing. Waltham’s Billy Champion and Brendan O’Toole combined to no-hit Wayland 5-0, and Ipswich’s Aurelia Teheen and Liz Marsella teamed up for a 10-strikeout no-hitter over Rockport, cruising 17-0.
2. Walk-off wins
Sophomore Nick Garbarino broke a scoreless tie for Newburyport in the top of the 10th with an RBI single to deliver the Clippers a 1-0 win over Triton, but the day’s only true walk-off came in the second game of a doubleheader for Middleborough, which trailed New Bedford, 4-3, in the nightcap when Nolan Trottier singled in two runs in the bottom of the seventh for a 5-4 Sachems victory.
3. Going, going, gone
Pentucket freshman Kam Bonneau, Wareham freshman Jolee Anderson, and Dighton-Rehoboth junior Cam Cloonan, who is committed to Villanova, all connected for two home runs, while Cohasset teammates Caitlyn Simms and Libby Morgan both recorded round-trippers, as did Milton’s Zahria Daley and Victoria Fish.
The rest of the day’s homers belonged to King Philip’s Ali Gill, Sandwich’s Joe Coughlan, Chelmsford’s Matt Stuart, Hanover’s Abby Hanna, and Central Catholic’s Emily Goc.
