The brawl featured parents, kids and someone on the sideline getting decked by a punch. It got ugly.

According to reports out of California, the fight started when a parent rushed the sideline to confront a coach. The brawl ended up featuring parents, coaches and juveniles, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened shortly after 12 p.m. local time.

“On Saturday, at 12:41 p.m., deputies responded to Central Valley High School football field for a report of a parent charging a coach on the field. The Sheriff’s Office said the event was part of a charity football tournament being held at the field, but was not affiliated with the school,” ABC 7 reported.

“Witnesses told deputies the chain of events began when a juvenile player from a team in Reno, Nev., was tackled near the Central Valley sidelines. A Central Valley coach then picked up the Reno player and pushed him back toward the field. Officials said the player’s father, who was also an assistant coach for the Reno team, viewed the shove as an assault and ran across the field to confront the Central Valley coach.”

One coach was reportedly knocked unconscious by the brawl. Thankfully, it doesn’t sound like any kids were seriously injured.

Many of the parents had left the scene before police arrived, though the case is being sent to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for further evaluation.

Massive punishment is likely coming.
