New athletic training facility
Plans are for an additional 13,000 square feet of street-level, mixed-use commercial space and an outdoor plaza for public enjoyment near the southwest corner of McKinley Avenue and King Drive. The facility will include a 290-space parking structure. “This is extremely, extremely important and really a great day to fill out the northeast section of the Deer District here with a number of partners. The Milwaukee Bucks and MATC are partnering, bringing more opportunities for young people,” said Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson.

A news release says MATC envisions a 28,000-square-foot double-court gymnasium that seats up to 1,000, a fitness center, locker rooms, concessions, meeting rooms and other amenities to primarily serve MATC’s fitness and health programs and athletics, including women’s basketball, men’s basketball and women’s volleyball. The training facilities will be available for all students and staff.
