MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State women’s indoor track & field ascended to the top position in the nation in Tuesday’s USTFCCCA National Rankings Index. The Mavericks moved ahead of Grand Valley State and Pittsburgh State in week two. The Mavericks were ranked No. 1 in the nation twice last season (week one, week four) and seven times in 2022-23. The Mavericks also hold the fourth fastest 4×400 meter relay team time as well as the 10th quickest distance medley relay time.The Mavericks take to the track again Friday, February 7 when it hosts the Ted Nelson Classic at Myers Field House.Top tens include Stella Neophytou (second, triple jump), Miranda Lauvstad (second, pentathlon), Lillian Washington (third, triple jump), Esaba Okwaramoi (fourth, 60 meter hurdles), Viktoriia Ermolaeva (fourth, pentathlon), Ally Hammond (fifth, 60 meter hurdles), Adeyah Brewster (fifth, 60 meter hurdles), Robynn Rolle-Curry (fifth, 200 meters) and Paige Hickson (10th, pole vault).The Mavericks scored 260.23 points on Tuesday. With a strong showing over the weekend at the Mark Schuck Open & Multi, MSU athletes hold the top marks in Division II in three events. They include Grace Johnson (60 meter hurdles), Miranda Lauvstad (long jump) and Ghada Hamdani (triple jump).
