College Sports Communicators released its Academic All-District® Football teams today. Two Miami University student-athletes, Cade McDonald and Matt Salopek, were among the Division I honorees.McDonald, a wide receiver from Naperville, Ill., is pursuing a Master’s degree in Sport Leadership and Management from Miami’s College of Education, Health and Society. Salopek, a linebacker from Kent, Ohio, is pursuing a Master’s in Sport Analytics from the College of Education, Health and Society.Cade McDonald and Matt Salopek

Salopek was also selected as a CSC Academic All-America® finalist, advancing to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 28, 2025.The 2024 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA.
