  • The Crisafulli Government is set to begin work on the design and pre-construction phase of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project.
  • The project will unlock faster rail and additional services to address the high travel demand between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
  • The congestion busting project is a key investment to support the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Minister for Transport and Main Roads Brent Mickelberg said the Crisafulli Government was delivering the critical transport infrastructure the Gold Coast needed, after years of Labor failures.
The 2032 Delivery Plan lays out the blueprint for generational infrastructure for all Queenslanders, and the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project will ensure residents are better connected after the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We are getting on with the job of delivering more frequent, reliable and affordable public transport for the Gold Coast,” Minister Mickelberg said.
Crisafulli Government begins work on faster rail for the Gold Coast
“The Brisbane to Gold Coast line is already one of the busiest long-distance commutes, so being able to add more services will be of huge benefit to our communities here on the Gold Coast,” Mr Boothman said.
The Crisafulli Government is getting on with the job of unlocking faster rail and additional train services for the Gold Coast, with work set to start on the design and pre-construction phase of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project.
The project is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments.
The .7 billion project will increase tracks from two to four between Kuraby and Beenleigh stations, providing more frequent and reliable public transport services to and from the Gold Coast.
This project is yet another example of the previous Labor Government’s major project mismanagement, with the estimated cost blowing out from .6 billion to .7 billion.
