Members of FAU’s Final Four team reunite at Nick Boyd’s camp

The Florida Atlantic men’s basketball team that went to the Final Four in 2023 will go down in South Florida sports lore. While that group of players has gone their separate ways, on Saturday, they were back together supporting Nick Boyd’s free youth basketball camp at Boca Raton High School.Dozens of campers of all ages jammed the school to learn the basics of basketball and learn some lessons along the way. “It’s just the advice, the wisdom we can share to them. We have a bunch of guys playing at the highest level. I remember myself coming to these types of camps and taking it home with me,” Boyd said.Boyd, who will play at Wisconsin this season in his last year of eligibility, says Boca Raton still has a special place in his heart. Boyd played four seasons with the Owls.”Most importantly, it’s just the community. We are bringing the community together, reuniting with the city, reuniting my guys and having everyone under one house,” Boyd said.Saturday was also an opportunity for Boyd to catch up with his teammates from that 2023 Final Four team.”Boca really raised us. It has made us the men that we are. We did great things here,” said former player Giancarlo Rosado.”Coming together for a community event like this is great. It’s great to see all the old teammates here,” said former teammate Bryan Greenlee.”It’s a great feeling to give back to the community that built us. Going to FAU, Boca Raton, built us up and turned us into men. It’s been really good to give back,” said former Owl Michael Forrest.
