The game would ultimately feature 10 ties and 11 lead changes and the second half displayed much of that back-and-forth action. The turning point came with about six minutes left. UCR held a 62-61 lead, but Jacobs drained a three-pointer that began a string of 11 straight points by the ‘Bows. That allowed UH to build a double-digit lead  and the ‘Bows held off UCR’s final push as the Highlanders would get no closer than four points in the final 90 seconds. UH, which shot 54 percent for the game, went 10-of-17 from three-point territory and assisted on 23 of its 29 field goals. All ten Rainbow Warriors who saw action entered the scoring column. The ‘Bows out-scored the Highlanders 38-24 in the paint and out-rebounded them 38-29. Tanner Christensen scored all 18 of his points in the second half to help UH defeat the Highlanders (10-7, 3-2) for the fifth time in the last six meetings, including the third straight time in Riverside. Akira Jacobs added 12 points off the bench, while Kody Williams added 11 points and a career-high six assists.Williams was also key in defending Barrington Hargress, the conference’s leading scorer. Hargress finished with 19 points but was limited to just 6-of-22 shooting from the field and 2-of-11 on three-pointers. Isaiah Moses poured in a game-high 26 points to lead the Highlanders. The first half was one of alternating runs. UH hit seven of its first eights, including a trio of three-pointers to jump out to a 17-7 lead. But the ‘Bows went cold for more than six minutes, allowing the Highlanders to take the lead on the strength of 10 unanswered points. UH responded with 10 unanswered of their own to retake the lead, but UCR had the final say of the half with an 8-0 run to give them a slight 30-28 lead at the break. UH trailed by two points at the break, but shot a sizzling 66 percent in the second half. UH also committed just three turnovers in the second half after turning it over 11 times in the first 20 minutes.
