ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Belmont University men’s golf team is picked seventh in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Preseason Poll as announced by the conference office on Friday morning.
In a vote by the league’s head coaches, Illinois State was picked first as they earned 9 first-place votes to finish with 99 points. The Redbirds finished ahead of Southern Illinois (86), Valparaiso (80), and Murray State (65).
Bradley was tabbed fifth at 57 points, followed by UNI (44), Belmont and Drake (41), Missouri State (27), Evansville (10).
The league’s spring season culminates at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, held this year at Des Moines Country Club in Des Moines, Iowa on April 20-22. The winner will represent the Conference in the NCAA Championship.
In six events this fall, the men’s golf team posted three top-10 finishes in six events, including two top-fives in their last two tournaments. They will open up the spring season on February 24-25 at the World Golf Village Intercollegiate in St. Augustine, Florida.
