MEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD BEGINS SEASON WITH A POWERFUL PERFORMANCE

New York, NY:  The men’s indoor track and field squad at Ramapo College kicked off the 2024-2025 season today at the TCNJ Winter Open held at the NY Armory. This competition was organized by the College of New Jersey.
 
Kevin Ortiz achieved a 4th place result in the 60m dash with a time of 7.05 seconds, placing him 8th on the program’s all-time leaderboard. In the preliminary heats of the 60m hurdles, Ndubuisi Okeh finished in 8.91 seconds, now ranking 7th on the program’s top 10 list. Additionally, Owen Usinowicz recorded a time of 9.03 seconds in the 60m hurdles prelims, placing him 8th on the top 10 list.
 
In the 300m event, the Roadrunners secured three spots in the top 10. Jordan Hart finished 5th overall with a time of 35.44 seconds, which is now 2nd on the program’s historical list. Terrell Lockett came in 7th at 35.98 seconds, setting a new personal best and now stands 4th on the top 10 list. Anthony Gentile took 9th with a time of 36.64 seconds, placing him 9th on the top 10 list. George Losche secured 4th place in the 1000m race clocking in at 2:47.66, while two Roadrunners made it to the top 10 in the mile run. Michael Mohr finished 2nd in the event with a time of 4:33.45, and Julian Mignone followed closely in 3rd place at 4:34.04.
 
In field events, Ortiz achieved a 6th place in the long jump with a distance of 6.16m. In shot put, Alexander Riba reached a distance of 12.54m, earning him a 10th place finish. In high jump, Anthony Sileo cleared 1.77m for a 7th place finish. Wrapping up the day, the 4×400 relay team finished 3rd overall with a combined time of 3:27.06, consisting of Mark Shinkorenko, Lockett, Logan Natale, and Jordan Hart.
 
The Roadrunners will return to the track in 2025 to host the Ramapo Season Opener at the NY Armory on January 17th.
