TROY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men’s swimming and diving team was back in action on Saturday afternoon as the Bombers competed in the Henry Kumpf Invitational against the host institution RPI as well as SUNY Cortland, Skidmore and Hobart. Ithaca ended up putting together an outstanding performance collecting 554 points on the day to take first-place.

The teams competed in mixed relays, the Ithaca 200-yard medley “A” relay squad of Samantha Bender, Sydney Koehler, Matthew Mitros and Spencer Alderson took second with a time of 1:43.64. That time set an Ithaca program record within the event. A program record would also be reset in the 200-yard mixed freestyle relay with Matthew Mitros, Spencer Carroll, Elke Beaumont and Spencer Alderson with a time of 1:33.52, which was also good for a second-place finish.

He crossed the finish line in 10:04.34, which was over two seconds faster than Samuel Ciegler from RPI. In the other distance event, Ryan Cooke would swim to a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle as he touched the final wall with a time of 4:46.72.
