Carleton 5, Carthage 2RACINE – The Carthage men’s tennis team hosted the Carleton Knights on Saturday afternoon. It was a tough day for the Firebirds, who came up short and dropped their first match of the season.How it Happened In doubles play, Elios Briand and Myles Krzewinski dropped a 7-5 decision to Jack Rivkin and Akshay Garapati. Cooper Ferruzzi and Francisco Silveira earned a 6-1 victory over Zach Leslie and Baiyun Jing. Cyriac Cyuela and Finn Morris fell 6-4 to Aiden Patel and Ezra Bernhard. The Knights took two doubles matches, earning the overall point to jump ahead 1-0.

In singles play, Silveira earned a #1 singles win over Jing with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (7-1). Krzewinski lost a close 3-6, 6-4, (10-5) match against Jasper Yang. Diego Silva fell to Patel 7-5, 6-2 in #3 singles. Ferruzzi dropped a 6-3, 6-1 battle with Bernhard, while Finn Morris picked up a 6-4 victory over Rivkin. Luca Okino was defeated by Garapati 6-2, 6-1.
