Taking Care of Business
The Quakers enter the ECAC Championship at 7-1, with their only loss coming to No. 16 Tennessee on the road. They’ve swept their opponent four times including both legs (Elon, Tennessee Tech) of their Sunday doubleheader last week.
Freshmen Phenom
Newcomer Shaurya Bharadwaj currently has the most singles wins by a Quaker this spring with seven. He has not dropped a single match at No. 3 or No. 4 (5-0). In doubles, the tandem of Manfredi Graziani and himself are 7-1.
Looking for Revenge
The Red and Blue came up just short at the 2024 ECAC Championship, losing to Princeton, 4-1, in the title match. If both teams win their first two matches, they can meet up again in the championship. Penn is looking for its first ECAC title since 2019.
Previewing Yale
Penn and Yale are facing off against each other for the second time in three weeks. Since their last matchup, Yale has gone 2-0, defeating Penn State (7-0) and Buffalo (4-3).
The Bulldogs have one singles player and one doubles team currently ranked. Vignesh Gogineni slots in at No. 65 on the ITA Singles ranking. Dating back to the fall season, Gogineni has dropped just three matches with one of them coming against Graziani. In doubles, Gogineni and Edward Liao are No. 88. The pair is undefeated (3-0) in the dual match season.
