Mike Tyson’s son has provided an update on the boxing legend’s fighting future.
The former undisputed heavyweight champion returned from nearly two decades in retirement to take on Jake Paul, who is 31 years his junior, at AT&T Stadium in Texas on November 15.
‘Iron Mike’ looked like a shell of his former self as he suffered a lopsided points defeat in his first fight since being stopped by Kevin McBride in 2005.
The 58-year-old grandfather now appears to be done with boxing for good.
Will Mike Tyson fight again?
In the immediate aftermath of his comeback loss, Mike Tyson suggested he would fight on by calling out Logan Paul as he celebrated his brother’s big win.
Tyson’s feelings appeared to change after taking some time to decompress. The ring icon issued a social media statement addressing the medical issues he suffered earlier his year. It included a strong hint that he was done with fighting.
Now his son, Amir Tyson, has seemingly confirmed that his famous father is heavily leaning towards retiring for good after attracting 60 million fans to Netflix for his return bout.
“I think he’s done,” Amir told Seconds Out.
“My stepmom, she’s saying he’s done and they’re a team. That’s husband-and-wife stuff.”
The 27-year-old went on to address claims that Paul vs Tyson was ‘fixed’.

Amir added: “Some people are on that bogus ‘Oh, it’s rigged’
“We know it wasn’t rigged. He just got tired. Jake would move out the way. It looked like he pulled his punches back but Jake’s moving. It’s not like the pads, he’s moving.
“When someone doesn’t want to accept that someone lost, when it doesn’t go that way of course they’re gonna pull that. And that’s what they’re putting on the internet.
“His gas tank after the third round was just shot. That’s all it was. He just kept on staying throughout. He did his best. No holding back, he did the best he could at his age.”
Jake Paul’s team address rigged fight rumors
Unsubstantiated claims about Paul vs Tyson being ‘rigged’ were so widespread that the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s company issued a statement addressing the rumors.
It read: “Following the wide circulation of incorrect and baseless claims that undermine the integrity of the Paul vs. Tyson event, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) would like to set the record straight regarding the contractual agreements and the nature of the fight.
“Rigging a professional boxing match is a federal crime in the United States of America. Paul vs. Tyson was a professional match sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR). Both fighters in good faith performed to the best of their abilities with the goal of winning the fight. There were absolutely no restrictions – contractual or otherwise – around either fighter. Each boxer was able to use his full arsenal to win the fight. Any agreement to the contrary would violate TDLR boxing rules.
“Trash talk and speculation are common in sports, and athletes and promoters need to tolerate nonsensical commentary, jokes and opinions. But suggesting anything other than full effort from these fighters is not only naïve but an insult to the work they put into their craft and to the sport itself.
“It is further illogical and inane that MVP, in the debut of a hopeful long-term partnership with the world’s biggest streamer—an organization that made its first-ever foray into live professional sports with Paul vs. Tyson—would even so much as consider such a perverse violation of the rules of competition.”
