Monks Softball Players Earn All-Conference Honors

WINTHROP, MA- Junior catcher Chantelle Bouchard (Biddeford, Maine), senior third baseman Sylvia Foley (Scarborough, Maine) and junior center fielder Sadie Tirell (Naples, Maine) received All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors as announced by the conference office today.
Junior Catcher Chantelle Bouchard (Biddeford, Maine) earned First Team All-Conference honors for the second straight year. A consistent offensive catalyst for the Monks, Bouchard led the team in home runs and RBIs. Bouchard recorded a .409 batting average with 52 hits, 35 RBIs, 26 runs, 10 walks, six home runs and two stolen bases.
Senior third baseman Sylvia Foley (Scarborough, Maine) was also named to First Team All-Conference for the first time after being named on the Second Team and Third Team. Foley concluded her collegiate career with a strong season at the plate, hitting .366 with 45 hits, 33 RBIs, 20 runs, 12 walks, four stolen bases and two home runs.
Junior center fielder Sadie Tirell (Naples, Maine) received Second Team All-Conference honors as well as a place on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team for her integrity and respect for the game. Tirell had a strong season at the plate, leading the Monks in hits and runs. She ended her season hitting .377 with 55 hits, 43 runs, 26 RBIs, seven walks, five stolen bases and three home runs.
