Morgan Wallen to perform in Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium April 2026
TUSCALOOSA, Ala (WIAT) – Morgan Wallen’s 2026 “Still the Problem Tour” is performing inside Saban Field at Bryant Denny Stadium on April 18 and the local entertainment industry says this type of event is long overdue.
News broke on 95.3 The Bear during the Steve and DC Morning Show. The radio hosts, Steve Shannon and DC Chymes were building up the news and the announcement lived up to the hype.
“It shows you how interested people were,” DC Chymes said. “ We normally have about 300 folks streaming on our app – today it was 1,800.”
If you tuned into the radio show from your car, or a music app before 8 a.m., then you probably heard in real time that Morgan Wallen is coming to Tuscaloosa.
The music country singer has found himself son the Billboard Hot 100 numerous times, but the big headliner in Tuscaloosa is where he’s playing.
“This Bryant-Denny Stadium deal is the whole twist because it’s been 40 years since there was a concert at Bryant-Denny stadium,” Steve Shannon said.
The country band, “Alabama,” was the last true performance in the field. While the University of Alabama has brought in some big names for the Walk of Champions, what’s coming to Title Town in April 2026 doesn’t compare.
“Garth Brooks wanted to play there a couple of years ago and was turned down, they just didn’t want to deal with it,” CBS 42 News Music and Entertainment reporter Jimmy Carter said. “So something has changed maybe peer pressure.”
Other college football stadiums are hosting Morgan Wallen. The University of Michigan has already hosted their fair share of live music performances Carter said. However, a bigger driving force might be the need for extra cash flow to pay players for their name image and likeness.
“I think as long as there is NIL and as long as they’re paying players they can’t just depend on the rich folks, the rich donors, and the ticket buyers,” Carter said.
Concerts inside Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium might be the million dollar ticket for the Crimson Tide and that’s how much money Carter anticipates Wallen will generate in ticket sales.
The average ticket for a Morgan Wallen concert go for $409. If 60,000 tickets are sold that’s $24.5 million Carter said. However, that doesn’t include the probability that some tickets will be sold for thousands of dollars.
Carter expects stadium concerts in Tuscaloosa to become the new norm in this new era of college football as the NIL financial needs increase and it might happen sooner than later.
“Stay tuned because I can’t say who told me, but there may be another announcement come Christmas time for other concerts at Bryant-Denny,” DC Chymes said.
The Steve and DC show have two tickets to give away for Morgan Wallen’s concert, but you must be the first caller to get a series of questions correct.
