Mountain Hawks Garner Individual, Team Academic Honors From NFCA

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh softball program was once again well represented as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its academic awards for the 2024-25 school year. Twelve Mountain Hawks garnered Division I Scholar-Athlete honors, while Lehigh earned NFCA All-Academic Team status for the 14th time in 20 seasons for its team GPA during the last academic year.
 
The NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete award is given to a player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2024-25 academic year. Lehigh’s honorees for the 2024-25 school year include recently graduated seniors Lindsey Martin, Julia Mrochko, Maddy Schmeiser and Maria Urban; juniors Crysta Duenas, Chloe Hess and Sydney Parlett; sophomores Maddy Clark, Holly Lovett and Peyton Sward; and first-years Wrigley Fanter and Madison Finnerty.
 
Mrochko and Sward earned Academic All-Patriot League honors during the 2025 season and were joined by Parlett and Lovett in garnering Academic All-District laurels from the College Sports Communicators.

NCAA Division I had 2,544 honorees from its member institutions, who posted a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

A total of 162 Division I programs received the NFCA All-Academic Team Award, given to programs that boasted a team grade point average of 3.0 or better during the 2024-25 academic year. Lehigh, under the direction of head coach Fran Troyan, posted a 3.539 team GPA last year. Saint Louis topped Division I with a 3.91 GPA, followed by Butler, Omaha, DePaul and Jacksonville.

 

The Mountain Hawks went 28-24 during the 2025 season.
