Two cars were sent off the road after a car crash at approximately 10 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 63. The crash took place in a southbound lane in Callaway County near the southern border of Boone County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the incident happened when a white Chevrolet sedan driven by a Jefferson City man, 23, was traveling in the left lane and overtaking a black Ford pickup truck driven by an Ashland man, 77. The white Chevrolet sedan crossed the center line and collided with the black Ford pickup truck, causing both vehicles to travel off the right side of the road and overturn.
According to KOMU 8 crews at the scene, the black Ford pickup truck had all of its windows destroyed and both vehicles were totaled in the incident.
Crews saw both cars being towed out of the woods following the crash.
The Jefferson City man was moderately injured and the Ashland man suffered minor injuries, according to MSHP. Both were taken to University Hospital in Columbia by ambulance.
